With dates to be determined later, the American has announced who each team plays home and away and which four teams you only play once. The good news, TU gets WSU home and away, the bad news, they only get SMU and Cincinnati once but at least they get SMU at home. We need to do really well OOC because we'll hit all of the RPI killers twice.

When have we ever been in a conference with SMU and not played them home/home in a season? They've always been our closest conference rival since leaving the MVC. It's going to be strange not going to Moody this year.

Again, this is a favorable schedule for TU unless you lose stupid games you shouldn't. Wichita State, at a quick glance, looks to have the toughest conference schedule.

This isn't football. The goal is to beat good teams and make the NCAA tournament. Hopefully we're smart enough to avoid RPI killers in the OOC schedule.

If you win enough games in the AAC you'll be fine, especially if you hold home court and no bad road losses. Lose to Wichita and Cincy on the road, you're OK. Lose toSF or ECU you're screwed. Remember, losing to an awful ECU team last year was the beginning of the end for us.

Try telling that to Kelvin Sampson. Houston went 12-6 in the league last year. They were 8-0 against the bottom 5, had 2 top 50 wins in the OOC and ended up as a 2 seed in the NIT.

This is also significant because our marquee home opponents in the nonconference are ORU, UALR, and Lamar.

I'm actually fine with playing the main 4 contenders once. Wichita is going to be a top 5 or top 10 team, so the RPI hit won't be horrible. It would be nice to worry about strength of schedule at year-end. As I recall, UH lost at home to USF last year and that loss likely knocked them out. (I could be confusing that with a previous year).

ECU should go to football only. Bring in VCU or something. It's screwed up that some teams have to play ECU and twice and others don't.

Feel like I saw that conference scheduling comes out today but I can't find where I saw that.

Women's schedules have been released.

We should never only play SMU and Houston once. All your one time opponents should be from the other time zone ( I know they don't do divisions but they could sort of break it down that way for scheduling purposes).

But given that they are conference mates I concur that if their in the same time zone it would make much more sense to have two meetings on each's home court.

Initial thoughts: We should start 4-0 in conference play, ESPN3 should be renamed to the TU network, I don't like playing at Houston and then getting WSU two days later.

2 basketball magazines are on the stands and WSU is in the top 10 in both. Lindy's has picked them at #3 in the country (ahead of KU btw)..

Question? What is the highest ranked team ever to play in the Don?

#1 Memphis in 2008. They fell to #2 later in the season.
#3 Memphis in 2006.
#5 OU in 2005.
#6 Gonzaga in 2004. We played #6 OSU at the BOK in 08'
# 8 Memphis in 2007
#9 WSU in 2015 (That's our highest win in the DonRey)

We beat:
#3 Louisville at the Fairgrounds Pavillion in 75.
#7 WSU at the Pavillion in 63
#8 San Fran in 65 at the Pavillion

#8 Louisville at the convention center in 80'
#8 OU at the convention center in 85'

We play Cincy at Northern Kentucky University.

UCONN here during Holiday Break .....bad........

With Moore , Brown and Ojeleye gone SMU has to be way down.

GO TU!!!!

I like that we get Memphis and Wichita on back to back Saturday nights in January. If we're playing well, those games should have good crowds.

The 6pm weekday tips are going to be tough for us out-of-towners though.

Not a bad TU schedule. 14 of 18 games are on national cable TV, not 100%, but not horrible. Wichita State fans must be on cloud 9, easily the most conference game pub they've ever had.
