Cincy game thread

That one ref has money on Cincinnati

Yeah he’s been awful tonight. Been around for years. I’ve never been a fan but he’s calling a different game than others.

Wish I knew who was so talented you speak about.

I think that guy that leads the conference in shooting %, true shooting%, effective fg %, is 13th in O-rating, 11th in Offensive rebound%, 21st in assist rate, and 6th in steal % is pretty talented. You wanted our coaches to run him off though

Oh my god what a horrible pass by our best player up one with the ball. He is a terrible passer.

Give the ball to Joiner Best player of night.

Never wanted to run him off. You said last year had less talent. Totally wrong. Igbanu, Korita, hill and our Colorado friend

Someone is going to have to explain to me why Jackson is in the game for that last sequence over Ritchie who can hit a shot.

Haith has his best ball handler pass it to our worst in the next to last possession. Worst coaching call of year. Jackson should throw it in to Joiner.

Why give it to brandon there. Hes had 2 great games and that's it. Turns it over way too much. Takes bad shots, like the last one. Team just isnt good.

Haith's refusal to just make the easy choice and sit Haywood and KES has completely frustrated this team. That final shot from Rachal is an entire year of being over playing 5 against 3.

It's clear Haith just will not pull the trigger. Richie needs way more minutes and Jackson should be on the floor until he falls over. Rachal has to pull back and quit forcing the game, it's not helping.

It's sad to say that this team would be so much better if KES and Haywood had never got on campus, not sure any other players would ever see this much floor time for such little season long production.

Rachal by far our worst passer. Why did Haith have Joiner throw him the ball on the next to last possession with a one point lead???? Did he listen to Toby Lane who was talking loudly to him ??? And then Joiner throws it in instead of receiving again with 5 seconds Joiner has his best game and doesn’t see the ball on last two possessions. Wow!

"Definitely Barnes and Hewitt showing the D II ball. Jackson has some game but he is such a horrible shooter his limits will always be limited. That gives us 4 additional ships to play with. Let’s hope Haith friend at Tennessee can help scoot a couple real players our way" - you advocating running him off Feb 2, 2019

Looked intentional.
Perhaps he Is just stupid.
Either/or
Not intentional in any way, that’s crazy talk! It does show a lack of coaching. Rachal has made a lot of those type passes. You don’t allow that to continue.

We had several players tonight making plays that should have been coached out of them early in their Tulsa careers. You allow players to continue to make lazy passes & other undisciplined moves & it will cost you games, like it did tonight.

It's like Frank goes about recruiting with a strategy and approach of...

"Come here if you want, don't come if you don't want to, leave if you want, stay if you want to... ho-hum... I'm getting paid.".

The guy is a giant DUD.

As for the inbounds... Joiner passing it is not necessarily a great call, but he was open if Rachal would have simply slapped it right back to Joiner. He was open. Rachal doing what Rachal does --- a selfish ass player.

I usually complain about Haywood but Rachal has them crop up just not as frequently with the soft overhand lob. Haywood tends to make his square and flat across the key which just makes me want to scream every damn time.

When I saw them set up for the inbound I thought we were set up nicely for a little slight of hand.

What should have been drawn up is Jackson sprint to the baseline out of bounds.(He was set down wing opposite side of Rachal) Joiner under basket, sprint to the same corner he went to. Break Rachal deep so everyone chases and vacates the area. Joiner pass to Jackson now out of bounds. Joiner step into voided area. Jackson inbounds to Joiner, senior pg now with ball and support.

Rachal‘s latest lazy pass may have cost us the game.
I only watched the second half....I don't know how many turnovers that Rachal
will be charged with, but it seemed it was a turnover about 2/3 of the times he
touched the ball.....Worst half of TU BB I have seen in years....In fact, it has
become all too apparent that when players are screwing up on the court, Haith
has no one else to put in.....It seems they are all playing poorly......

I'll say it again.....Haith has lost this team.....He needs to go...I don't think with
the quality of his recruiting (actually the lack there of), his slowness in getting
the team ready at the first of the season(s), and the overall demeanor of what's
going on in the program, that he can get it done.....If he hangs around for another
year, we won't have a decent JUCO team left....

Plus Tulsa has absolutely zero inside presence offensively. None -Zero- Nada

I regretfully have to put a "like" next to your post. You have seen it all, even more than me and are exactly on target in every aspect. I expect Dickson will get the same statements from many others that see the same thing. He needs to read the message board because it is kinda like cockroaches ----- if 10 people on here are upset, there are thousands out there thinking and saying the same thing.

A decent coach could take this exact team and have 4 or 5 more wins than we currently have. It’s the same story year after year, we see players have a few very good games, then regress. Not saying we have championship level talent, but properly coached we would be in the upper half of the league.

Well we did. But if you go back and look at minutes you will notice something odd happened. Although Haith talked about sitting players who don't produce and playing people who do, Haywoods minutes continue to be pretty high. Richie and Jackson have seen more time, that's because instead of sitting Haywood and KES (who did see a mins dip) he took Idowu and Ugboh's mins. Hard to have confidence in yourself or stay in your groove when you don't get time and look over and see not one but two players who can't do the job your team needs (post play) and who don't perform at the job they are suppose to be able to do, but still get mins.

Grip wood gentlemen and ladies the exodus will make that whole "D II ball" class that stopped for a cup of coffee look small. I doubt we see the chicago kids again and certainly not next year. I am not sure if I there is a single player not named Joiner, Rachal, Haywood, or KES who won't be making some calls. Rachal will probably go make some change overseas, Joiner may be ready to move on 🤷‍♂️

It will only get worse till Haith does the obvious thing and sits the ones who shouldn't be playing.
