It's time for the AAC refs to treat Cinncy like a team that's getting ready to leave the league.
Just a bad matchup for the ole Golden Hurricane. Would love to see a win, but it's a mismatch.
There were some questionable calls/non-calls throughout the evening and both ways. Smith coming down on top of the PG in the last couple of minutes and there not being a call, Swannegan blowing up Ellis late resulting in Ellis missing his 6" shot....neither one called...yet Shaq's clean block gets called, Ellis running into Swannegan (who held his ground) and flopping like Messi gets called a foul. Reviewing Swannegan's push to see if it was a flagrant, but not reviewing the one on Clark (or Ellis, can't remember which one) when they hammered down across Woodard's face on a rebound. Ellis, Clark, and DeBerry get away with more chicken wings and bumps underneath than Wright and Swannegan would ever be allowed to.Yeah Smitty was huge last night. Played tough defense against way bigger guys. It helped that they let everyone other than Swannegan play.
How was that not a double dribble at the end of regulation on Coupain(sp)? He dribbled in the lane and it bounced off his own leg and he picked it up and took another dribble. Isnt that a double dribble? Maybe they got the timeout beforehand but I dont think it was going to be called. There were some questionable calls/non-calls throughout the evening and both ways. I will say I did enjoy the fact that Cincinnati didn't flop defensively like teams like to do against Wright and Smith. However, if we try to play that physically against any of the remaining teams on our schedule, Wright and Swannegan would foul out in 5 minutes. The difference in standards of how a game are called is ridiculous, especially when Cincinnati is involved. I am pleased that the game seemed fairly called and somewhat consistently in that we got away with as much contact as they did, but its unfair for players, game to game, to have to figure out what's a foul and what's not.
How about the refs letting Cronin chew their ass out late in the game. Plus how about TU working on better in bound plays against full court press, they really need to shore that up.How was that not a double dribble at the end of regulation on Coupain(sp)? Cronin should have been T'd up after the called the travel late. Not only did he travel, he committed a foul when he chicken winged Dre and threw him out of the way. I always though Cronin was more even keel than Huggy Bear...reality is he's just shorter and a ginger. How about the refs letting Cronin chew their ass out late in the game. The three seconds no calls were out of control last night. Cinci relies on guys standing around in the lane like they are waiting to get in Burn Co. That one gets missed a lot but it was remarkable last night. Must be another Jedi mind trick by Capt. Sportsmanship.
That was the loudest I have heard the Reynold's Center in a long time.In case you missed it...We needed this one to send us to OT. One of the more exciting games I have watched for TU in a while. Even the GF was saying that was F#$@ing intense game.
I've wondered why Coley's jersey hasn't been retired. I forget if he was the one that had law troubles?BTW, I think I saw Eric Coley at the game on Thursday, not Lil EC, but the actual big EC
He spent some time in jail for dealing drugs if I recall correctlyI've wondered why Coley's jersey hasn't been retired. I forget if he was the one that had law troubles?
