Im giving out bowl game tickets for Christmas presents this year. I have some family who are going to be happy, while others might be a little ticked. Regardless, I might need to rent a van for this trip.

good for you Illness means only 1 here, but I'm springing for send-a-student as well.

Debating right now. Would mean driving from St. Louis with the kids loaded in for the game, and then driving back to Tulsa on Sunday. Please pray for me if we decide to go that route.

12 or so in our group are in. Going to get drunk at some craptastic Shreveport Casinos on Christmas night, bars stay open til 6am at the casinos.

Speaking of giving away tix, you can make a GHC donation and specify in the notes that it's for "send a student" to the bowl game!

speaking of casinos, does anyone know if there is a one that (in addition to rooms) is smoke-free or, at best, doesn't smell of smoke. I can tolerate the newer Vegas casinos that have super filter systems, but I simply freeze and walk out of older ones when the smoke hits.

Right now got a total of 8 going in our group! D-Rock's last college game so should be a blast!! The wife and I are going down Monday the 21st and staying at The Boomtown and going to rake in millions before the game kicks on the 26th (just in case going to hide some gas money to get home on)!!!

Might be looking for a tailgate to visit before the game if anyone has room! Would be more than happy to bring something to contribute. I know the TU Alumni is hosting one too, but old school tailgates are always much more fun!!!

Driving down with my 12 year old early Saturday morning and cashing in points for the hotel.

Luetjen,

We have a pretty good group going from our tailgate. About 12 right now and we have reserved 8 tailgate spots at the stadium already. A few for cars and a few for tents. You are more than welcome to join us. Email me at unionman79@sbcglobal.net and we can exchange contact info.

We also have a tailgate Facebook page

Thanks mcane didn't realize you could buy those directly, will check it out this weekend!

just picked up 5 more student tickets, thanks to a generous relative.

Now set for a hotel downtown. Question if anyone knows Shreveport-Bossier, where can one get a nice dinner after the game, likely around 9 PM on a Sunday after Christmas? Stuck with room service?

Superior Grill for pretty good Mexican or Pappas Steak House (Pricey) should both be open but would be wise to check there hours.

For chain food, Texas Roadhouse should be open.

I'm seeing 60 degrees at kickoff and 60% chance of rain (no thunderstorms in forecast). Similar weather for those driving on the 25th or 26th. That works.

Counting down at my inlaws house!

This is the first bowl game I'll have watched here in 10 years, just never lined up that way for our Christmas visit.

They have no idea what they are in for...

Just arrived in Shreveport the Casino Hotel is as expected a little shady. On our way to the stadium for pregame tailgate.
