Big XII Announcement

And, while I'm pleased that the AAC stays together and clearly is the next-best conference, in about 10 years or so, I think we see the 64. There is time for TU to become sufficiently strong in both football and basketball to at least be in the conversation, but that will require new resources, such as vastly better attendance and an upper deck on the East side (with a soccer hood for sun relief). TU positioned itself solely for AAC with the Chapman remodel. It's great, but it's too small for P-5.

Agree, except that the Chapman remodel (downsizing) was a CUSA thing. It is definitely too small for P5.

Agree that the AAC's best option for standing is to raid the MWC - Air Force, CSU, New Mexico brings football to 14 (with Navy) and then WSU basketball only to 14 with the 3 MWC schools. Getting to 16 also makes sense - but becomes harder - Boise, UNLV, Wyoming, No. Illinois, etc.

Here's a chicken and the egg question: which comes first, expanding the size of our stadium, or the size of conference expanding? Attendance is a critical variable as well, as the long-standing thread relating to it exemplifies.

why would texas leave? they are the problem...they can't go anywhere with the money they make from the longhorn network...no other conference will let them keep that.

They make too much money to expand. I see OU bailing in the next few years, and texas will convince others to add one team to the big 12 for every team that leaves...

You might be right I thought it was 30 million over 20 years. Doesn't seem like that much money to make up if you're the SEC, B-10 or P-12.

We shall see.

GO TU!!!!!
