What Biden's inner circle did should be illegal. They could have made up for their handling it the way they did, by insisting Biden drop out of the Presidential candidacy early on. When Biden was having difficulty handling the duties of the presidency no matter how major or minor they were, the inner circle knew good and well that the difficulties would only become progressively worse. They should have delivered an ultimatum to Biden, that if he didn't drop out of the race, then they would reveal his present difficulties. The inner circle of aides should have banded together at least as early as February or March. They were having to cover for him enough that early on, that they knew the reality.

They need to be instigating legal age limits now. Possibly they may have to wait till someone is in office that is not past the age limit though. It wouldn't look that positive if Biden or Trump were in office and put into effect laws that would invalidate their presidency. This wouldn't take care of the 5-10% of dementia patients that are early onset, but it would take care of at least 90% of the 'future' patients deciding whether to run.

Some members of former President Biden’s Cabinet did not believe that he could be relied upon to perform at 2 a.m. during an emergency by the final year of his presidency, according to a new book from CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson.

Several secretaries told the authors that Biden’s inner circle grew so small in 2023 and 2024 that even members of his Cabinet weren’t included.

“Access dropped off considerably in 2024, and I didn’t interact with him as much,” said one Cabinet secretary, who explained that instead of briefing Biden, the secretary would brief other senior White House aides, who then supposedly briefed the president.

The Cabinet member thought it was strange and wondered if it was a way of filtering out particular information and directing Biden’s decision-making, according to the book.

Even before Biden’s disastrous June 2024 debate that led to his decision to exit the race three weeks later, Tapper and Thompson write Biden had been showing signs of his decline over and over again that were either ignored or explained away.

Tapper and Thompson write Biden’s aides privately discussed whether they would have to put him in a wheelchair for his second term and Biden didn’t recognize movie star George Clooney at a June 2024 fundraiser.

That is obvious that Trump's people would do the same. Trump would be even more dangerous, and they still would do it. That's why we need to take it out of the now incredibly partisan hands of both parties.

We've seen the issue before with Reagan. When a Senate committee called him to testify about Iran Contra, they realized his mental condition had deteriorated to badly, they gently let him go. We should have done something then. Biden at least surrounded himself by experienced, capable people. Can't say the same for the current set of sycophants. The job is too demanding for those in their late 70's much those in their 80s.

and yet we have a dementia patient now in Trump - even if it is syphilitic / age related in nature - and he is quite malleable by his handlers as well as enemies of our nation. What is being done about that?

Even at the end his administration, Biden would have signed a much needed bi-partisan immigration bill had not Trump intervened against it at the last minute. Probably says more about Trump than Biden.

Careful with that last bill that wasn't put forth because of Trump. It wouldn't have been written except for pressures put on by the republicans, and the Democrats attempt at a preventative response to those pressures. It wouldn't come to pass without those pressures being exerted. It was a response not an unelicited expression of Democratic doctrine.

Are you talking about the infrastructure bill which authorized $1.2T of government spending at a time when inflation was running at 7%?
