I bumped into this old gem from the 1977-1978 season, back when rivalries meant something. I was a young-un, but this was a pretty big deal at the time on the news. It wasn’t a good look for TU basketball.
But it will give you a sense of history. The Tulsa player involved was then sophomore Lester Johnson, who had a Dennis Rodman knack for rebounding.
Tulsa was coached by alum Jim King, whose name is mercifully not brought up very often when discussing Tulsa basketball. This generation has JP and Ojick. My generation had King and Barnett.
I have a fiver that says the guy in the stands is related to Gold or LEC ... jk.
When Versace came back to the convention center the following year, people wore mop heads as wigs. I still giggle about that. And I still hate Bradley.
