Alcorn game thread

When evaluating the final score consider one of our top two shooters was 5-13 and 1-7 from deep. I am a little disappointed that some of our benchwarmers didn’t get in for that last minute.

Actually it’s been a pretty good game overall. Some loose play by us early but both teams playing hard. We should win big at the end but I expect to see us play most of the bench before it’s over.
I was disappointed Haith didn't play his bench since they work hard in practice and Alcorn was never going to win this one.

Me too, I expected five subs after that first free throw with under a minute to go.

Don’t know what you were seeing but KES stat line shows 0 turnovers. No need to make stuff up just because you don’t like the guy.
While I agree KES had one of his best games, he did throw a wild pass that led to a turnover, even though the turnover was charged to another player. I think that’s what TU78 saw. KES seems to be playing better as the season progresses.

Regarding KES, the interesting thing to me is how much better Haywood plays without KES. Haywood’s defense is always good. However on offense, Haywood used to pass almost exclusively to KES. With no KES on the court, Haywood plays a much better offensive game.

The Haywood take on this is interesting as I would agree for the most part that when Haywood and KES are on the floor together it is a different dynamic. We have other players who play wild and fancy free with the ball. Nevadas issue is that bashing a player just cause you don’t like him is, for a lack of a better word and be PC, silly. Back it up with some stats.

We need to remember that there are two different sides to basketball. Offense and defense. Now I will say I am not a huge fan of KES offense most games (he was efficient mostly today), he does do really well on defense. Sometimes those areas are overlooked because most of your defense doesn’t show up on a stat line. He does defend the three well. You have to get a hand in a face and he does that, sometimes shots go in.

Now l just took a look to see the last time that KES had a turnover. He had 2 in the ORU game. He also had 2 assist, 2 defensive rebounds and 1 steal in that game over 22 minutes. He was also 3-6 shooting 2-4 from beyond the arc. He was the third most efficient player on the court.
