From the SMU Rivals site...they jumped Tulsa all the way up to third...
1. Cincinnati (19-2, 8-0)
The Bearcats have become one of the hottest teams in the country and are currently riding a 12-game win streak. A solid 8-point win over a ranked Xavier team was a nice win for Cincinnati and the AAC as a conference. Gary Clark Jr. and Jacob Evans continue to shine for the Bearcats on offense, with Evans leading the team with 14.5 points-per-game.
2. SMU (18-4, 8-1)
The Mustangs are equally as hot as Cincinnati, with a two-point game being the only difference between the teams. Aside from that loss, SMU has won its last 15 games including a 65-60 win over UCF most recently. The game was not SMU’s best, but considering it was playing without Jarrey Foster it was a very solid result.
3. Tulsa (12-8, 6-2)
Winners of five of its last six, Tulsa has risen to third in the AAC with a mark of 6-2 in conference play. It was an up and down week for the Golden Hurricane, who suffered a 69-66 upset loss to ECU but rebounded to beat a tough UCF team by 11 just a few days later, ending the game on a 12-1 run.
4. Memphis (16-6, 6-3)
A surprising loss to Temple snapped a three-game conference win streak for Memphis, but the Tigers closed out the week with a 57-50 win over ECU. Most news this week with ties to Memphis has been about former head coach Josh Pastner, who led Georgia Tech to wins over Florida State and Notre Dame.
5. Houston (15-7, 6-4)
Houston won back-to-back games this week for the first time since it opened its conference schedule with three consecutive victories. Rob Gray Jr. continues to perform at a high level, averaging 20.5 ppg including 28 in a win over Temple.
6. UCF (14-7, 5-4)
A three-game losing streak has resulted in UCF dropping from third to sixth in the AAC standings. The Knights did not crack the 70-point plateau in any of the last three contests and its 4th ranked defense nationally can only do so much. Tacko Fall continues to dominate around the rim though, and is shooting 76.4% from the field.
7. UConn (10-11, 5-4)
UConn has taken advantage of a badly needed stretch of games against the bottom of the conference. Wins over ECU, Tulane, and USF has given UConn a 5-4 mark in-conference and its first three-game win streak of the season. Jalen Adams has stepped up for the Huskies and is averaging 15 ppg on the season.
8. Temple (11-11, 2-7)
Temple shook a three-game losing streak with a moderate upset win over Memphis but was immediately sent back into the loss column with a 13-point loss to Houston. Guard Shizz Alston Jr. is playing his best basketball of the season for the Owls and now leads the team in scoring (14 ppg) and assists (4 apg).
9. ECU (10-12, 2-7)
Losers of seven of its last eight, the Pirates have fallen to 2-7 in conference play. An upset three-point win over Tulsa was followed by a loss to Memphis earlier last week. ECU can still hold its own on defense, ranking 15th nationally, but a 61.8 ppg output ranks 343rd.
10. Tulane (4-17, 1-8)
Tulane dropped a set of games to Houston and UConn this week and are in the midst of a five game losing skid. A stale offense has only reached 70 points once in the losing streak and only average 69.1 a game overall. Cameron Reynolds has been essentially the only bright spot, averaging 15.4 ppg.
11. USF (6-14, 0-9)
The Bulls have not won a game since Dec. 22. USF has not scored 70 points in any game in conference play thus far and rank 323rd in the country in scoring. This week was particularly bad for the Bulls, losing to UConn by 21, a defeat that was followed by a 41-point beat down at the hands of Cincinnati.
