This ranking is from the SMU Rivals site...
-------------------------------------------------
1. SMU (22-5, 13-2). With the exception of Cincinnati, the Mustangs have proved they can defeat anyone in the AAC. Temple had guard Will Cummings back from injury, but a big second half kept the Owls from ending SMU's winning streak. The Mustangs have now won 12 of their last 13 games. This week they have road games against Memphis and UConn, both of whom will surely want revenge from earlier in the season.
2. Tulsa (19-7, 12-2). After a blowout loss to UConn, Tulsa recovered this week and took care of business against East Carolina. Then on Sunday the Golden Hurricane defeated Temple by double digits. Tulsa is proving it deserves its spot among the top of the conference. But with the race for the AAC so close, the team can't afford to lose to Tulane or Memphis this week.
3. Temple (19-8, 12-4). The Owls had a legitimate chance to tell the AAC they can win the conference. SMU caught fire late and so did the crowd at Moody Coliseum, but Temple still had a significant lead for much of the game. Beating Tulsa might have solidified Temple's number two ranking, but instead the Owls were held to just 39 points.
4. Cincinnati (18-9, 9-5). A narrow loss to Xavier doesn't hurt the Bearcats' conference hopes, but it gave the team its first three-game losing streak of the season. Cincy did end that streak against Houston, but fans watching must be wondering where the team that beat SMU twice went. With games this week against UCF and Tulane, Cincy will try to build some momentum before taking on Tulsa.
5. Memphis (17-10, 9-5). It remains uncertain who this Memphis team really is. The Tigers defeated UConn, but then needed overtime to win against UCF. The team has a gruesome schedule to finish the season. Games against SMU, Tulsa, UConn, and then Cincy will seriously test the Tigers, but they have the talent to beat these teams and shake up the AAC.
6. Connecticut (15-11, 8-6). Similar to Memphis, the Huskies have the talent to be winning more games than they are. They took down Tulane on Sunday, but the team will be tempted to overlook East Carolina this week in preparation for SMU, Memphis, and then Temple. This team needs more scoring from players not named Ryan Boatright. Daniel Hamilton and Amida Brimah need to step up for this team to really impact the conference.
7. Tulane (14-12, 5-9). With losses to UCF and UConn last week, Tulane has no momentum whatsoever going into this week against Tulsa and Cincy. The Golden Hurricane and Bearcats will surely bring their "A" game with the close conference race coming to an end. The Green Wave will need a solid game from Louis Dabney to win either of the contests.
8. UCF (12-14, 5-10). The Knights move up this week due to a 14-point win over Tulane and then taking Memphis to overtime. Until that overtime loss, UCF had a three-game winning streak. The team is building confidence and will need it in their next game at Cincinnati.
9. East Carolina (12-15, 5-9). The Pirates fell, but only due to UCF's recent play. ECU easily beat USF. The team will play UConn at home and then at UCF for an important matchup in the bottom tier of the AAC.
10. USF (8-20, 2-13). It seemed like USF might never escape the last spot in the power rankings. But a win over Houston that came right down to the wire moves the Bulls over the Cougars. USF has the entire week to prepare for their rematch against Houston this Sunday.
11. Houston (9-17, 1-13). The Cougars just can't play an entire 40 minutes. They gave SMU and Cincy quite a scare, but the Mustangs and Bearcats prevailed in the end. Losing to USF hurts, but Houston will get their chance for revenge. However, the Cougars will have to travel to Temple first.
