∙ Four of the five American teams in action on Wednesday play home contests, while Tulane hits the road for a matchup at No. 11/11 North Carolina (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2). East Carolina, who is 4-1 over their last five decisions, will host UNC Wilmington at 7 p.m. ET while USF takes on Jacksonville at the same time at the Sun Dome. Both games will be carried live on ESPN3. RV/NR Houston plays host to North Carolina Central in the Global Basketball Classic at Hofheinz Pavilion (8 p.m. ET, ESPN3), while No. 18 SMU returns to action after eight days off to host Nicholls State as part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic (8 p.m. ET, TWC/ESPN3). ∙ The Bearcats opened Tuesday’s contest versus the Spartans on a 15-0 run. Gary Clark scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half while Farad Cobb posted a game-high 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Cincinnati outscored Norfolk State, 23-4, in second-chance points.
∙ The Memphis bench, led by K.J. Lawson’s 16 points and Trahson Burrell’s 15, helped pace the Tigers to the win over Southern. Lawson’s total was a career-high, while Burrell marked a season-high in points. Memphis made 52-percent (13-of-25) of its shots in the second half.
