3/5 games

Memphis starts out 12-2 over UConn. If Memphis ever plays as a team, they could win the AAC. They do have the best players on paper. If we had Shaq Goodwin would we be good..........

Len Elmore says no way Lunardi should have Tulsa first 4 out and have 2 AAC teams behind them in the tournament. TU is tied for first and a solid # 2 in the AAC.

Refs are at it trying to keep UCONN in the game. Call Godfrey for a flagrant 1 because Purvis hit the deck. Message is don't try and play defense against the break. Godfrey got the ball, but got a little body contact. Purvis hit the scansion sideways and really hard. Refs didn't even bother going to a replay.

AAC you need to fire all the refs you use and start fresh with HS guys. It cannot be any worse than these blowhards you run out there now.

I heard that too, II. But then he concluded with some nonsense that you can't just look at the data, it's about the eye test.

Wth? No one is criticizing Tulsa on the "eye test".

Is Judy still on the committee? Does she have to excuse herself when Tulsa is discussed?

Now up to 22-2 ad for UCONN at the line. AAC has absolutely decided UCONN is going to win the tournament. Anyone who is playing UCONN will be playing 8 v 5. Mike Patrick and Elmore have sounded stunned at some of the calls.

Patrick is one of the best on any network. He doesn't suck up to any conference which is the problem with Bilas and a lot of the others...they are so in the pocket of the ACC it's ridiculous. Great win for Memphis at UCONN. I dare say that Pastner out coached Ollie down the stretch. UCONN looked really disjointed down the stretch while Memphis looked like they had some real flow on offense.

VCU has tanked the last couple of weeks. Not sure they really deserve to be in as they are showing that he loss of Weber is a bigger deal than just one player. VCU has lost their identity and they have forgotten how to play defense. Giving them a bid is like a pity party and feeling sorry, but they aren't the same team without Weber.

Point on VCU is they lost their best player to injury about 2 weeks ago and they simply haven't been the same team. Their accomplishments were achieved by a team that can no longer take the floor.

Regardless of what you think of VCU, Davidson probably just punched their ticket. That outcome was the opposite of what we needed.

That is my point.

Agree on Davidson and my argument was more for VCU being a bubble team because of recent circumstances. It really just goes to prove a point that the committee and bracketologist experts (self-proclaimed experts) can manipulate the information any way they want to get the results they want. Everyone wants to point to the ORU and SEOSU losses for us yet we are 16-3 in our last 19. In order to make VCU look good they have to point to the early season body of work because their most recent results are not good or tournament worthy because of the player injury. Yet they will sit there and stump for a different team from a P5 who was not good in the non-conference season and has gotten hot recently as worthy of being in. BYU is one of those teams. BYU has 1 good win this year...Gonzaga. They've been pretty average the rest of the year.

Stanford loss basically knocks them out. They'd have to win at Arizona to get in now.

Honestly don't think Stanford is all that good anyway. What are their best wins...vs. a pretty average Texas and an average UCONN and WOFFORD (Wofford???). Their RPI is 65 right now and they are 5-7 in their last 12. Winning at Arizona and then winning at least 2 games in PAC-# tourney is the only way they even could realistically be on the bubble...unless the talking heads take their ESPN BPI, which is #42, seriously.

65 in the RPI in a mid-major conference wouldn't even be mentioned. Look at UCONN and Memphis.

Quick anyone know who UCONN's worst RPI loss is to? Hint: It's not Yale. Yale is #69 in the RPI and not even close to being mentioned as a bubble team. UCONN's worst RPI LOSS is to #250 Houston. Next worst losses are to #82 Memphis (2x).

Not counting the SEOSU loss we have 2 losses sub 50 in the RPI (UCONN, ORU, none below 157). All the rest are top 50 RPI. 3 are top 20.

Point is...anyone can spin anything to make it say what they want. Win Sunday and I think we would definitely be in barring a collapse to ECU/Houston in the quarters of the AAC

all of that without our best player (Austin Nichols) or our backup point guard (Pookie Powell)

I hope you guys take down SMU to stamp your ticket.

Good job GMT1..... You have the best players in the AAC. I enjoyed that you finally played like it.
