2025 TU Football Season Record Prediction Thread

We were historically terrible in 2024 AND most of our best players are in the transfer portal. So I have a low bar of success for 2025.

1. Don’t get blown out by 30+ points by conference opponents 5 times, like we just did in 2024. Let’s say 3 or less is acceptable for conference opponents, and 2 or less is even better, etc.
2. Just look better organized offensively and defensively in game 12 than in game one. Show some improvement as the season progresses.
3. Show some fight until the end in every game. Have less penalties as the season progresses.
4. With a schedule that’s harder in 2025 than 2024, win at least 3 games, including at least 1 conference game.

I’m not going to make a prediction for 2025, but I will make a prediction for 2027.

I think AD Moore needs to start thinking about the coaching search that is likely going to happen in 27’ or 28’ right now.

If Lamb does enable a turnaround, even the 6-6, 7-5, 8-4 kind…. He’s probably going to get swallowed up by one of the low tier ACC schools like Va Tech, Virginia, or NC St.

If he doesn’t achieve the turnaround it will be time to dip our toes in the water again.

Everyone just needs to wait and see on this coming year. Turnarounds can happen QUICK...especially with the portal and competent coaching. Too early for predictions.

Well, I’ve followed TU since the late 60’s
And Tre Lamb reminds me alot of Don Morton (85-86)
I know a lot of ‘ol TU fans didn’t like 2yr Donnie

But he had that same Kind of enthusiasm & demeanor
And FWIW he did beat Houston 2 yrs in row
And his 2nd yr team couldn’t get over beating the Louisiana schools & da Hawgs
But (his) TU’s last game that yr was @ then #1 Miami Hurricane’s
TU players knocked them around & played them very close
Even Jimmy J after the game said TU played them as tuff as anyone that season
Of course Morton took off to Wisconsin after that
& won like 6 games over 3 yrs B4 he got da’ boot

But I like Tre Lamb, he’s a straight shooter
“I want to win fast. This is not a complete rebuild”
Take a 4 hour drive around Tulsa we can have the greatest team in this league (AAC)
One of the reason’s that I took this job.

I’m going to recruit coaches that can recruit those areas
Recruit, Develop, Retain
We’ve been given plenty to B successful in this league
I will get it done w/out making excuses

Develop daily, great habits
I got to lead first
I got to to wake up every morn w/ a fire in my belly
The Staff has to feel it & the team has to feel it
Can’t go back, we got to set the standard now
Start believing now, the fan base needs to start believing,
The coaches need to start believing, the players need to start believing"

I believe we got the right coach at the right time
GO TU

Being genuinely serious about this, if we go 4-8 but are competitive in a majority of the losses, thatll be a improvement and a semi successful first season
I expect us to look immediately much more competent and well coached, that's for sure. The energy he brings will immediately translate to the players.
