• Tulsa coaches put out some additional offers this week. One went to Tyler JC defensive back Grid Isidore...teammate of recent TU commit Jacob Kainer. Isidore tweeted that he is visiting Tulsa this weekend. He also recently visited UNLV and has several other offers. He's a December grad. When I asked him what he was looking for in a college and football program, he said, "Somewhere I could ball right away and get my degree." In watching his film, he's a very physical player.
• TU offered Little Rock (AR) Robinson linebacker JT Towers. Great athlete that also has offers from Navy, Army, ULM and a few others. Also has a preferred walk-on offer from Oklahoma, and was offered at quarterback by an FCS school. Towers told me that Coach Gillespie has talked to him about possibly visiting, but nothing is set yet.
• Another offer went out to Jones County JC offensive tackle James Middleton. He switched over from defensive line and has been under the radar, as his only other offers are West Alabama and North Alabama. Middleton is a big dude at 6-5, 310, and I believe he is visiting TU this weekend as well. He told me, "I am looking for a program that fits me and a good education so I have a degree to lean back on."
• As I mentioned last week, Tulsa got a commitment from Texas A&M running back transfer Deneric Prince. He played high school ball at Manvel (TX). TU is pursuing another Texas A&M transfer, who also went to Manvel, in linebacker Brian Johnson. Johnson played mostly on special teams in all 13 games as a true freshman, but has only appeared in four games this season. He was a 3-star prospect out of high school with 18 offers, including Louisville, Illinois, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Missouri, Baylor, etc.
• TU commit Dillon Wade tweeted that he is making his official visit to Tulsa this weekend. The offensive tackle from Houston (TX) Cy-Falls has 18 scholarship offers.
• NEO safety CJ Thompson told me this week that he's been staying in touch with Tulsa coaches. He doesn't have an offer yet, but it seems TU is showing strong interest. Thompson said, "They are supposed to call me in the next couple days. Coach told me we'll keep in touch and that he will talk to me soon, regarding my thoughts on coming up for a visit 13-15th weekend. I’m not sure what their thoughts are, but it’s something I hope we can get going."
