Kings of Leon at BOK: meh. Not bad, liked Band of Horses more. Crowd was rude. Typical BOk show.

National at Cain's: Holey moley. This was the real deal. I was skeptical of how this completely mellow band would handle the ordinarily raucous Cain's crowd. They kicked it's ass. Just a good night. Crowd was mostly low on douche. At Cain's of late, that's saying a lot.

Looking forward to next Friday night at Cain's. Even though I'm not happy with the new album, I know they'll play a wide variety of their great stuff from over the years. Hopefully, they'll play "Telling Them", my very first favorite SD song from way back when.

I've seen Band of Horses before, they put on a solid show. Very good opening act.

Closing with Terrible Love-Mr. November-Vanderlyle was brilliance and really played to the energy of the crowd at the time.

I couldn't tell if the 'calf fries' joke fell short because people couldn't hear him or they just didn't get it.

It was hard to understand. They talked more than I thought they would. The Mr. November thing was really cool; usually that move is overdone, but having the wire pulled all the way to the pack hadn't been done at that type of show. I haven't had that good of a time at Cain's in awhile.

Interpol put on a great show tonight, but following The National's epic show yesterday, was secondary and a bit of a let down. Figures that 2 of the half dozen shows I'll go to this year were back to back on a Tues and Weds.

Haven't been to a concert since the Eagles' second show at BOK.

/is super lame

That's right, rival did mention something about Gaga and how he loved her so.

I think I'm headed up to KC May 11 for the Bad Religion show. I remember the first time I heard them when I scored a copy of "Someone Got Their Head Kicked In" compilation record. Some great clips from the early LA hardcore years on the link. Probably one of the most intelligent bands around.

Did you ever wanna take bad advice?

Agree with canester on the Interpol show. They were solid; I kind of liked the opener, too. But it sort of felt like our home crowd the week after we beat Notre Dame. I had no energy and left early in the encore. I had too much fun at the National.

Anybody going to Wilco on May 8th? The tickets were kind of expensive, so I guess my expectations are higher now, considering I have never seen them... but I am very excited regardless....

Lol, I'm getting mileage out of that Christmas present I bought.

The Beale Street Music Fesival in Memphis is this weekend. If you have never been I can tell you that it is usually a pretty good time. It is all weekend with several stages with a wide array of artists set up in a downtown park on the banks of the Mississippi river.

I will also vouch for the BBQ contest at the same place 2 weeks later.

Social Distortion: very good time. They brought it. The crowd was actually one of the nicer, more polite ones I've seen at Cain's in awhile. I like Chuck Ragan now.

The honkytonk version of Reach for the Sky was huge. Only thing lacking on that was the stand-up bass. Loved the organ/accordian in Prison Bound as well. They played a few songs I'd never heard on a set list of theirs before, which was kinda nice for as many times as I've seen them. Playing "The Sweet and Lowdown" off the new album got them an A+ from the woman.

This is a couple days late but, Wilco kicked some serious ass on Sunday night at Cains. One of the best shows Ive ever experienced...

I was at Wilco. Have seen all their shows at Cain's. Sunday is hard to do for me. I ended up leaving before the encore; had to get to work early the next day.

The encore was pretty long, probably 4 or 5 songs. So you probably made the right decision if sleep was what you needed. But the last 2 or 3 songs were perhaps the most entertaining, ending the set with "Hoodoo Voodoo". Nels Cline and the other guitar guy had a guitar solo battle, while the creepy mustached sound guy jumped on stage on rocked the cowbell with the band. Pretty awesome. So you did miss out on that. Then again you had seen them before. But this being my first Wilco show, I sure enjoyed every minute of it....

Better than Ezra + Tonic

90s here I come!!

I'm surprised either is still going. Saw Better than Ezra at the old Curly's. They weren't bad, but don't need to see them again.

I hated Goo Goo Dolls. Still do. And that one dood had a terrible mullet. The only good Goo Goo Dolls song I ever heard was where they covered "Love is a B1tch" with some old black guy singing and a horn section -- in other words, not the Goo Goo Dolls.

CHROMEO announced yesterday for Friday 10/21 at Cain's!!!!

Just bought presale tix here:
http://tixx1.artistarena.com/chromeo/

My ke$ha refund paid for 75% of two of these. :p

Epic weekend with Chromeo + Oktoberfest.

The Molly Ringwalds (www.themollyringwalds.com)
Thurs., July 8
Million Dollar Elm Casino

If you love 80's music, you will have a great time and should go check them out! Tickets are FREE. I've heard them a couple of times before and had a blast each time. If there is a good crowd Thursday, this is a can't miss for free entertainment.

I'll only go if it's Malicious Molly Ringwald as opposed to Sixteen Candles Molly Ringwald.

No one up for Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Sevendust and others in the Hot as Hell Festival on Junly 17th at the corner of Cameron and Boulder in the downtown Tulsa Brady Arts District?

LOL, there's so many music "festivals" coming up I can't keep 'em all straight. We got asked to play some deal in Tahlequah in August. We big-timed 'em trying to get a slot after the sun went down. We's too damn old to playing outside in the summer, especially in the afternoon.

I'm not sure. I only heard "outside" and "by the river" and that didn't excite me all that much so I think our frontman put the kibosh on it.

Ben Folds needs to stick to the dancing music and not play anything after about 2003. The old songs were good. The new songs reminded me on the football board. Great crowd. Shame that he kept playing his new album.

I cannot imagine the misery of the days following that outdoor show next Sunday. Not to mention the actual concert.

I abruptly outgrew outdoor festivals at 23.

Sinbad at the Convention Center, anyone?
