Very good multipart story on the USMNT leading up to 1994 WC and what the players went through to get there. It says a lot about how screwed up FIFA rankings are that the team was ranked 28th and only 6 of them actually played for a club at the time. I'm looking forward to the end. Nice to see Lalas finally admit he was milking it for himself and not the sport as he has always previously maintained. It's still funny to read Harkes and wynalda pose against each other and claim they were the best player/most respected player/most experienced player on the team even 20 years later. It's still good to read that the rest of the team still resent the eff out of them for thinking they were actually part of the team and responsible for the teams success. Harkes was a great, great player. Under appreciated abroad, over appreciated here for the wrong reasons, but he still thinks they won because of him, if you read between the lines. Delusional. Oh, and hey boys, we know you loved that denim kit at the time, we saw your music video four years before. Give up denying it ..,
