It appears it has been a disaster for JUCO players. Teams can get portal players with the same eligibility left, better academics, and players that have played against better competition. High school players have taken a hit too as teams don't want to spend money and time on them only to lose them in a year to the portal if they are really good or they sit on the bench they may want to portal and leave.
