I meant to post this earlier this week, but kept forgetting.

What does it take for Herculez Gomez to get a call up to the USMNT? Im sorry, Im not sold on him, but we need a super sub and you tell me if you think anyone is scoring more goals per minutes played than Gomez in Mexico right now. If he gets any hotter, his self proclaimed "Mexifro" will burst into flames.

Granted, he isnt the Number 9 that Klinsmann wants -- he's probably a poacher and not Landon Donovan's favorite poacher at that -- clearly that title is given to Edson Buddle. Terrance Boyd will be that Number 9, but until then, score some goals whydontcha instead of waiting around for Dempsey to finally show the effort it takes to be a hero.

Should have left a long time ago. Why would you want to ride the pine in the prime of your career?

Well, for openers, I believe Chicago still owns his rights and they have a younger (and arguably better) starter in Sean Johnson, when he isn't the second or third choice for the USMNT. He's on the Olympic team now. So no guarantee that Dom would play if he came home.

Second, Chicago offered him like $30K when he went through the draft and Dom has done nothing to up his value, plus id bet he is make three or four times that at least at Celtic, not to mention being a celebrity vs a nobody here.

And hes a keeper ... Plenty of prime years left. I actually like that he is getting coaching and being brought along slowly .... Like Cody Cropper.
