WILSON FIRED!!

HIs whole coaching tenure felt like a money grab from a swindler.... An overweight baby boomer with no retirement plan in place... "ooh, I'll go collect a paycheck at little old Tulsa, how hard can it be??" That was his attitude.
He had Haith to model his swindle after. Man, you are obsessed with his weight.

Dumb ? Nick Saban couldn't turn this program around with this personnel . Good coaching can
maybe get a couple of extra wins a season but without overall talent no-one is going to
sustain success at TU . Wilson's staff recruited a very good freshman class , unfortunately there
wasn't enough older talent . Time for TU to unload some linemen rummies who will never play
a down at Tulsa and start fresh .
False….

I am absolutely shocked the pulled the trigger this year. I believe it needed to be done but I was shocked it was this year and before the last game of the season
I am with you... I thought he would get the full contract. Oh well, won't be the first time I've been wrong

The right coach can come in, work with what he’s got and put these guys in a position to be successful. Just use Kragthorpe as an example since he inherited a much bigger mess than this.

We just didn’t pick the right coach this time.
+1000. With as often as coaches have come in and turned programs around in year 1, I'm surprised the other person would even post that it's not possible. Facts, they're good for you!

Anyone care to make a large “No Retreads This Time” sign for the last game?
The no retreads thing is interesting since as I recall our first #1 choice was the piggy DC who was a retread from Misery. He went to UNLV instead of here, took a 5-7 team to 9-5 last year and 9-2 this year and currently ranked #21. I think the issue isn't no retreads, it's don't hire a bad coach.

But then the sign would have to read "No retreads this time, but if you do make sure it is the right one that is good."

Although, I guess we could just simplify it to "Make a good hire this time!"

A rebound, equal and opposite reaction to a bad hire isn't always good advice.

The right hire, retread or not is what’s needed. The understanding of the current climate of college athletics and the insinuations regarding comittment to providing what’s needed made in the AD’s letter are refreshing and gives me hope that we’ll be able to provide the resources someone this round to bring in the right guy. There’s talent on campus, though it’s very young, and to Wilson’s credit the academics and accountability aspects seem to have been handled. That certainly is a big benefit and sets up the next guy with a solid base. It’s going to be an interesting ride as the process plays out.

Or we could shorten it to just "seriously, you guys have totally f*C$ed up like 8 straight hires, would you please, please, please try not to totally screw the pooch yet again".
