Question did Frank not try to sign the Boone twins from Tulsa Memorial? What a difference They would have made for Tulsa’s inside game. Tulsa signed Parker from Tulsa Memorial when we were good. We’ve got to recruit our hometown

I think Rod Thompson tipped off Haith early about the Boone's but apparently he was not as aggressive on the recruitment as others. You really have to be a Bill Self/Billy Gillispie (Parker/Swanson) on these local kids-Tubby (Seals, ) and even Steve Robinson stayed on the local kids (Coley) (Marcus Hill)
I don’t think anyone had a shot with the Boone twins. I think Boynton offered both of them in 8th or 9th grade.
We should have offered them in 6th grade come on man work harder Haith Seals 😂
I met the Boone twin‘s mom at a TU-UCONN women’s basketball game at the Reynolds Center in 2017. My youngest daughter wanted to see the UCONN women play. The Boone twin‘s mom came in late & ended up sitting by us.
She is a very nice, outgoing lady. She told us she played either forward or center for LSU against UCONN in an Elite Eight game. UCONN beat them. She also said she had twin boys who played for Memorial as sophomores. She said one was already 6’7” & the other was 6’8”! They weren’t committed anywhere at that time, so I quickly encouraged her to send them to TU, but I guess I failed in my recruiting pitch!

OSU played an early Saturday afternoon game in Morgantown during the Boone’s Junior year. Boynton flew back with the team and immediately hopped in his car and drove to Tulsa Memorial for their game that night. They were sold from that point forward. We need that type of recruiter as a HC here
Not sure that Seals has ever connected with any home town kids when it comes to recruiting. If memory serves me, recruiting area kids was the main reason Seals was brought on board. Aside form local connections he had very little to offer as a D1 assistant.
