I don’t want to turn this into a Crossfire board thread (most of you can predict about how I feel about the tax bill), but this part is really interesting. This will have an interesting effect on TU. In the grand scheme of things, I think it’s the right thing to do and I think more could be done. The write offs have been abused for years and it has gone to benefit athletic programs that have questionable social utility.
I love TU sports, but I also think this is is the right thing to do and should go further. I wonder if this benefits us eventually because it levels the playing field. I’ve long thought the coaches were very overpaid. Maybe this is way to reign that in.
