The announcers were going on for 2 or 3 minutes about the merits and demerits of Gonzaga/N Carolina/Villanova, amongst other various things not related to the two teams on the court. Pisses me off. Call the damn Temple run, and the game that it is your job to be doing.

We definitely benefited from playing them early and don't have a return game. They have gone in the opposite direction from us.

Well that last minute Temple win pretty much assured that we won't be tying Temple or Connecticut for 4th place. Now it comes down to a tie with UCF and Memphis for 5th as the only realistic possibility. Nice closing game run for Uconn.

I'm actually hoping more for 6, because I think the 4 or 5 will be UConn. I'd rather play TU win vs. USF and then get a shot at Houston on a neutral court, than one road game.

Did anyone else notice that ORU will not play in the Summit tournament since they are locked into last? Surely that is the end for Scott Sutton.

First, #6 is a good seed for us to get an extra game. I'm not sure there is a 4 game run in us and it's a tall order. This team has lost confidence in itself. There are lots of things coaches can do to help their teams but if the confidence and mojo are gone, there is little a coach can do to get them out of that funk because most of the time it is an internal psyche thing. Until something good happens to them on the court it's a tough thing to break. Heck they played fairly well for a half against Cincinnati and then things start to go sideways and from there it is over for this group right now. That's been the standard MO the last 6-7 games.

As for ORU...you never know. Sutton has been extremely loyal to ORU. ORU is in a terrible spot to try and hire a new coach on an extremely limited salary/budget and then have that individual try and recruit to ORU which is an extremely tough place to sell to kids wanting to play high quality ball AND have that college experience.

Scott Sutton may not be getting that much help from his dad these days either. I assume Emery Eddie is still alive?

Eddie is alive but in very very poor health.

I guess he should have switched to cornbread and iced tea a lot sooner.

The last tulsa/oru game I attended, patsy was still alive. I remember her not reacting at all to the game as it played out..I guess she died a few days later? She was one of the nicest people I had ever met.

A lot of tragedy in that family.

Agree. Eddie lives a few doors down from me. Sad to see him in his current condition. Has to be a distraction for his boys.

Eddie's 80+ years old. With his personal problems off the court he has lived to a good age. His kids are in their 50s' they should be able to handle this. However, it still is never easy to know that your father's time is soon approaching. I wish them the best. Scott has had to be the pillar in that family for many years.
