Just for some fun( NOTE: and it goes without saying "Ctt's" input is needed) did some scheduling gymnastics with the RPI over the next seven games.
That includes the following:
@ WIchita
SMU
@ So Fla.
Tulane
@uconn
So Fla.
UCF
If we hold home court and win at So Fla. 5-2 record results in a 16-11 record, which according to my RPI projection would result in an approx. RPI of #81, not too exciting. NIT bubble?
However, add one more win, either a colossal upset at Wichita or the more tame upset at UCONN, the Tulsa record would be 17-10, that in turn would result in an RPI of approx. #54, much more exciting. NCAA bubble?
Of course this is all just a wild a@# guess but fun to mess with the numbers no less.
Two wins in replace of losses today result in about a 40-50 RPI swing right now.
In other words Lamar, Iowa St., Wichita St., or Temple. Had Tulsa won two more of those four the RPI would be in the mid 50's right now.
This team is closer than it appears to having a special year. Lets hope with some consistency they finish the year on a run.
GO TU!!!!
