Tulsa hires retired Sounders goalie Terry Boss as assistant coach
By Associated Press, Updated: Thursday, February 16, 1:05 PM

TULSA, Okla. ? Recently retired Seattle Sounders backup goaltender Terry Boss has been hired as an assistant coach at the University of Tulsa.

Head coach Tom McIntosh announced Thursday that Boss would replace Colin Clarke, who is retiring after nine years as an assistant for the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa made six NCAA tournament appearances during that time.

Boss retired from the MLS in December after playing the past three seasons with Seattle, recording shutouts in three of his eight starts. He also previously played for the New York Red Bulls of the MLS and the Puerto Rico national team, following his college career at Tulsa.

Everything I've ever heard has been positive -- especially comments about his work rate. Learning from Keller obviously will help him as far as position coaching goes. We are lighting a fire in recruiting lately. It can't hurt to have an alum sitting in living rooms telling Dads and sons that he played professionally after getting noticed at TU.
