Tulane game thread

Swanny with early contribution and then early hook? Hmmm. Ray looking good. Smith missed a point blank dunk, but as usual bringing lots of energy.

We're a little careless with the ball and these announcers are awful.

I think they referred to us going with a small lineup just bc Ray was in the game. When Wright and Swanny were both in?

Thats not what that means...

That was pretty good D by Smith, hard to guard a step back fade away with high arc.

Where's Tanya Harding?

Wth is going on with these offensive fouls? They are happening before the camera has panned down...

Nice stretch there; defense has been solid. Just need to knock down open shots and free throws.

Does this seem really similar to the game in NOLA? Tulane really dictating the pace first half.

Seems like we went into halftime around 29-21 too.

Steed appears to be looking to call fouls in us. Tulane's Lurch elbowed Swannegan in the neck right in front of him and Swanny even flinched...no call. 25 and 21 are really being brutal and they haven't been called nearly enough. Need to step out on the shooters a little more. Dabney can have his but limit everyone else. We have some really good balance right now. Limit 2nd chance and we should be fine.

Shaq's shot looks good they're just not falling

Smitty feeling it now. Our ball movement to start the 2nd half has been superb. Curtis's cut was beautiful...need to finish the easy ones though

I'm glad Ray is a sophomore, I never would have known it if these announcers didn't keep telling me.

They were just guessing words.

18 of 22 from the FT line. We need this every game! Great job at the line tonight; it is the difference in winning by 21 points or 14.

Sorry, I got 2 rant.

W/ all the pressure on da' Boys 4 this home stand
They came thru determined & focused
TU held serve @ home
20 wins & Cinn & Temple R considered NCAA "locks" over us?
I don't know many teams as tuff as us.
Great inside game 2 go w/ tenacious "D" & rebounding

I drive in from the Wichita area
2 catch all 3 "important" home games
where the "bleep" are the gold seat folk's?
I understand the Temple game, cold & snow concerns
but tonight?
da' Boys deserve better

No matter what happens @ Memphis
We need 2 pack the house for Cinn next Wed,

Let's hope 4 a Triple OT between SMU/Memphis tomorrow night

Time 2 tame a Tiger, again
Go TU

I agree on the attendance. I was in from St. Louis and went to the ECU game. There might have been 2,000 - 2,500 butts in the seats. It is embarrassing!

We were BAD in the non-con games. We weren't a CBI team then. During conference play we are obviously much better. We have been playing like a 5 seed. Will the committee reward our progress and put us in with the "eye" test or will they keep us out citing our "complete body of work."

Zissou, unfortunately the selection process and litmus tests they seem to use is "what favors the P5s most?" It is getting harder and harder though because the non-P5s are getting better and better. Wichita St and Northern Iowa, VCU, Davidson, Boise St, Gonzaga, us, SMU, Temple, Rhode Island are all pushing and all are quality teams. So undoubtedly if we sucked early then that is what they'll use rather than the fact that we are 13-2 in our last 15.

This game reminded me a little of 2000. We had a modest lead at half time, came out after the break and stepped on their throat and just didn't let off the gas. Even up 20 in the last 2 we were draining treys. And we ran and we jammed and our D was tough. We played big boy basketball the last three games

Yep. Aren't they like 27-2? I expect them to lose to Wichita State coming up. Remember, Valley tourney starts next weekend. UNI is a very good team.

BTW, did anyone see what Virginia did to Wake Forest last night, 70-34. This is why Virginia will go farther in the NCAA tournament than any other ACC team. They are the best defensive team in the nation and have enough scoring to beat a good team. Duke, UNC, 'Ville, Notre Dame- none play really sound defense.

Duke is the best team in that league. Virginia is right there, and they could outlast Duke... But Duke has the best player in the country, and that makes a huge difference in the tournament.

Will respectfully disagree with this. Duke has the best collection of talent in the ACC. Their overall team defense is quite avg. I will take Virginia to win the ACC tournament and go to at least the Elite Eight. Duke or UNC may get there but only because the committee gives them a slug draw.
