That or we will give up a 3 td lead in the 4thA little early, but I predict Tulane will beat us by two or three touchdowns.
Not a chance. Tulane is improved over what we knew Tulane to be, but they are not anywhere near 2-3 TDs better than we are. The'll probably still win as Monty will figure out a way to hand them the game after Tulsa outplays them for 3Qs.A little early, but I predict Tulane will beat us by two or three touchdowns.
Side note, I'm in process of making my own tabasco sauce. Let you all know how it turns out. I don't have a cave or oak barrels to put it in for 3+ yrsTulane has a great baseball stadium... the Tobasco foul poles are a nice touch...

The key will be to keep the QB in the pocket and make him throw. He's not terribly accurate and our downfield coverage is better than average.Tulane game will be similar to the Navy game. Our D better be ready because if Tulane gets the lead and our O can’t sustain drives it will get ugly.

Good to know. I know that is how Tabasco sauce was originally made. I will need to find the right ratio of Tabasco peppers (which I'm growing), vinegar, water and salt. I was just going to experiment in a small canning jar for this first batch. The next issue is how to do the salt. The actual Avery Island method is to put about a 3 inch salt block on top of the mixture and let it sit in the cave for years. 1) I don't know that I can make a salt cap and 2) I don't want too much salt getting in there. I'm sure they figure on a dissolve rate for the salt when it is in contact with the mixture. I'll get it figured out. Once I do maybe I'll bring it to one of y'all's tailgates and let everyone try.I forgot to tell you, you can get small barrels on line.. if you use a small (3L) barrell and season it with a cheap bourbon or cheap rum for a month or so then you may be able to get your tobasco flavor in 3-4 months..
I use small barrels to age manhattans and sazeracs then my spent ones i use to make bitters ...
Noble, when were you going to come to a tailgate? Now I want to talk to you about craft cocktails. Also my hobby....I use small barrels to age manhattans and sazeracs then my spent ones i use to make bitters ...

Off topic, but if I wanted to buy some tamales for our tailgate, where would y’all recommend?
There's a ton of places in the 21st and Garnett area. You can't go wrong with most of them. Super Mercado Morelos also does a nice tamale. I go to the one at Harvard and Pine.Off topic, but if I wanted to buy some tamales for our tailgate, where would y’all recommend?
There is a hispanic guy who goes around selling tamales at bars. I just messaged Trina, the manager at Hurricane Lounge, and she says he comes in every night at the Hurricane Lounge. She will talk to him, and find out how to get a hold of him at happy hour. As soon as I find out, I will post the info. About how many are you wanting? His tamales are the bomb.Off topic, but if I wanted to buy some tamales for our tailgate, where would y’all recommend?
He comes in between 4 and 5p. So I'm going up there in a little bit for happy hour and have a few beers. Gives me an excuse for happy hour.Off topic, but if I wanted to buy some tamales for our tailgate, where would y’all recommend?
The guy Gmoney is talking about also comes in to On the Rocks at 33rd & Yale. I'll buy a dozen and it doesn't matter how many drinks I've had.
He was there the day before, but didn't show up yesterday. I sacrificed myself by staying till 7:30p but alas he still didn't show. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I wouldn't rely on Trina or him to get message across or show up on the last day before the game. I suggest you follow up on other suggestions since you asked last minute. So solly, you would have been pleased as punch if I could have corralled him for your tamales. He has one that is pork and chiles that is incredibly tasty.Maybe a dozen. Lol great story there!
I messaged Trina again and she is almost positive he will be there today, cuz it's Friday. Wouldn't count on it for tomorrow. Will hopefully get his contact info, for the next time you are interested in having them.Off topic, but if I wanted to buy some tamales for our tailgate, where would y’all recommend?
So does he leave them there when he shows up, and they can be purchased anytime after that? Or is he like Mad Dog selling roses, and you have to buy from him while he is there?I spoke to Francisco, the tamale man. He said no tamales today. He said it's too cold.
He said he will have tamales tomorrow. He didn't know what time he will be at Ed's tomorrow.

^^^^^^I brought tamales from El Guapo one year and thought I had bought too many.
I took none home.
