So the best team to come to the Reynold's Center, men or women will be there tomorrow night when the UCONN women come in. This team is so freaking good...they are on a 55 game winning streak which is the 3rd longest in women's basketball history...but they also own the top 2 as well as the overall longest streak in college basketball. Every coach in men's and women's basketball should be asking Auriemma his secret. It goes beyond just having great players. It's ridiculous how this team over the years has almost never let their guard down against anyone...I think in the last 20 years UCONN has maybe lost 3-4 games that would have been an absolute shock. If they lose ever it's to a team ranked in the top 10 and it's always a close game. Calipari and Roy Williams WISH they could understand how to motivate their prima donna McDonald's all-americans the way Auriemma gets his teams to play every day. You all should come out and see them in person.

I think there is less parity among the women's teams so it's a little easier to maintain a stranglehold and still win against bad teams if you're not focused and/or have an off night.

I agree there is much less parity in women's basketball, that said, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Stanford, and others have all experienced the occasional "Really???" loss. UCONN not so much. That team, even knowing they are the absolute best, that game in and game out they are rarely challenged, plays with the same intensity and fire and drive for a full 40 minutes regardless of who the opponent is. There's a reason why their AAC win margin is like 45 ppg. Auriemma has somehow tapped into a place that all coaches wish they could find and bottle. It's why you see POY candidates like Breanna Stewart diving for loose balls with 2 minutes left and her team up 40. It's easy to do those things in tight games. Auriemma demands 40 minutes of focus, 40 minutes of determination, and 40 minutes of drive every game. Look at their margin of victory the last 2 seasons vs. top 10 teams...it's ridiculous. Last year there was big hype for UCONN vs. So. Carolina who was #2 and undefeated (game was late January or early February and UCONN ran them out of the gym by 20+. And there are no egos on that team. Contrast that with Kentucky or UNC and their HS All-American laden teams... UCONN is pretty much on a 25 year run that may challenge the UCLA teams of the 60's in terms of overall dominance. Auriemma may be as good as Wooden was in terms of coaching and motivating.
