TU Women vs ECU

Weird it did not show up under AAC games. But I just found it by direct search. Watching now.

Ladies are on fire offensively 47-22 3 minutes left in Q2

Half TU 47 ECU 23. We cooled off the last 3 minutes. Missed a few open shots and 2 FT. We are shooting 57%, 44% on 3s and 78% on FTs

Poindexter has 2 blocks, 1 steal, 6 rebounds and 9 points. On the steal she took it the length of the court through traffic switching hands to dribble and made a left handed layup. She is going to be special.

Also Maya Mayberry is still out. Not sure how many games she will miss. This is the second game.

This team just plays fundamentally sound basketball. They got a little ragged towards the end of the half trying to push the tempo but they get out on the break quickly, they get back on defense almost as quickly and they swarm to the ball on rebounds despite almost always being the smaller team. I think Nelp is making sure the team is fundamentally sound and will
Begin introducing more complex defensive and offensive sets when they're ready. Haith should take some notes

TU wins 71 to 59. Ladies seemed fatigued in 2nd half. Shots were a little short, made mental mistakes, etc… With Maya out we play a 7 person rotation but Washington got very few minutes.

First time to women's game in years. I enjoyed it very much. I got to speak with athletic director and president of the school. I told them how much I enjoyed the game and wished them luck with the school. I was worried a little in the last 2 quarters as it seemed we ran out of gas and ECU stepped up their defense.

We pushed the pace in the 1st half and didn't seem to slow down in the second half and I thought because of the pace, shot selection got a little suspect and probably too quick into the possession. When you have a player like Poindexter, we need the ball to get into here and play from there. She is such a tremendous passer of the ball in addition to all of the other things she does, the team really needs to take advantage of that.

Nice to hear that Brad and Rick are out at the games, especially at the games they don't "have to" go to.

I have started going to the TU women's games this year. In the past I had gone when they played UConn or OU, but never just to see the TU women. It is a very fun experience. The team is really good and exciting, and they start 4 locals. I would highly recommend it. I have seen an increase in the crowd just from the last 2 games. It is such a different atmosphere than the men's games. It's great to leave a game and not be so dang frustrated.

I do not find womens basketball entertaining at all. I never have and I never will. I do watch the Softball team religiously though. This team, to me, is different. They dont look out of place or disjointed and I find myself actually watching whole games. Even though I normally dont watch them I do pull for their success. To be honest I think I am interested more since Mossman left.
