TU Football Highest GPA in School History (from TU Football page)

TU's student athletes had a great year in the classroom. One TU athlete was named the AAC Scholar Athlete of the Year and several others were the scholar athletes of the year in their respective sports.

Now with the GPA stuff, that's great and all but what is our APR for football going to be? We've been teetering right on the brink of the NCAA coming down on us for a while now because of the number of players we lose to transfers.

That system with how transfers affect it, is set up in an utterly ridiculous way.

Last year was the highest it’s been ever. The Graham years put TU in a serious hole that got better during BB and even better under Montgomery. Since Montgomery got to TU midway through 14-15, every single TU football APR has been higher than it ever was before he got here.

Sorta. While it’s true the football team is the meat and potatoes of the APR, we had some other sports seriously dragging us down including women’s basketball, women’s tennis, and women’s golf. There’s just no excuse for academic performance in those sports in the 938 range. Or 910 and loss of scholarship in the case of Wbball. That was just crappy decisions by recruiters being tolerated by our ADs. Which was been cleaned up.

Montgomery has helped but not as much as you make it sound. And TG wasn’t that bad. Book beaters like Wojick and Kragthorpe had worse classes. And the glory years of men’s soccer was pretty teeth clenching as well.

And while PM has raised it overall 20 points over our lowest score during the BB era, PM’s highest score with all of his players is only 6 points higher than TG’s final year. IYAM, let’s beat Norte Dame and tell the girls to go to study hall or we drop your sport.

APR is different for each sport.

Decisions by WBB don’t affect FB.

And TG’s final full year was a 927.
Then it was a 925 in 2010-11, his final fall at TU.
