top 25

Honestly I think it would be a distraction right now so I'm ok with having to work harder to earn it.

I agree with this, but I have to say that the drop in WSU's ranking to 20 is pretty telling... They lost a tough early road game with their best player not fully healthy and drop 11 spots? Lack of respect to both WSU and TU.

In any case, keep winning and the votes will come. South Carolina would be another quality win for this team, best to focus on that and not the rankings.

And Carolina still in the Top Ten. Hmmmmmm. Cincy and SMU in though, so three conference teams ranked.

Is SMU not eligible in the coaches poll or are coaches just ignoring them altogether? No votes at all.

SMU not eligible in that poll. I'm kinda glad we are not in top 25 yet. I remember we hit top 25 in 97 or 98 and immediately lost to ORU the next night.

Oh yea, the game rigged by the refs at the end? THAT one?

Terrible terrible memories.

I think I lost sleep over that one.

It was 1999. But yeah, great memories!

Thanks for reminding me, I.I. :p
Holy Praying Hands Voice!!! Do you have some sort auto-search that pulls up anything ORU? You're almost as bad as the Kansas Jayhawk dude who immediately jumps in (whether invited or note) when anything Kansas is mentioned.

LOL!! No, but if you scroll thru all of the basketball threads on this board, ORU is mentioned in a very large percentage of them...LOL!

It was actually Dec 30, 1995 in Steve Robinson's first year. TU was undefeated and ranked 25 in the latest poll. TU led by about 10 midway in the first half and coach Rob took out Seals and the starters and by the time he could get them back in ORU was ahead at halftime. ORU won 90-70 something......worst coaching move of the entire year. We lost in the NCAA to Louisville also by losing a 10 point lead that year in the last 2:00.

Oooh, that's right. I got mixed up on the times we have beaten TU. It's been a lot over the past 20 years. I was thinking when Self came over with your Elite 8 team and we got you 60-59.

Sorry, it's just hard to keep track of all the time we've beaten a "favored" TU team at the Mabee Center! :D

With UCONN, Cincy & SMU all ranked, we'll have plenty of chances to be ranked. It's more important to be ranked in March than in November, anyway.
