Anyone know why 2:30pm was set as the start time for the FAU game. I looked up the forecast for that day. It said 86 degree's but it could just as easily be well over 90 degree's. From what I am seeing of the current temp's, it probably will be over 90. That's too hot for many. Me especially.

This is the problem with TU fans. Put some sun screen on, wear a hat, drink alot of fluids, and enjoy the game. A little heat and sweat aren't going to kill you. 86 degrees is nothing good Lord.

I'm more concerned with scheduling to our advantage. Scheduling a southern CUSA team in the early months of a season doesn't sound like we are being "schedule smart". The heat won't necessarily be to our advantage if it is a hot day on the field against a team from Florida. The turf will make it even hotter to the players. If we are going to schedule a team at home from a league that is below us, then it should probably be those MAC schools from the north that we happen to be scheduling home and home series' with these days. OU isn't "schedule dumb" - they play Akron at home. OSU isn't either since they play Central Michigan at home. This isn't rocket science.

It's also FAU. If we are going to blame a little heat as the reason we would lose to them, then we have other problems.

I'll just +1 everything soccr said in this thread.

I'm thrilled that the 2:30 kick isn't up against a single major Texas school that day so I should actually be able to watch it out somewhere in Houston.

Our heat is worse than theirs...
This. I've lived in Florida for 15 years. I lived in OK for 25. The heat is different. The humidity is higher, but the baking scorching oven like sun doesnt really happen here, unless you are in direct sunlight. They get up and practice in 80 degree heat. It might make it to 95 today. Plus, FAU has the seabreeze. In Tulsa, its 94 at 6am and 102 by noon whether you are in the shade or not.

The weather won't be a factor. It will the speed of our play calling vs. the speed of their players. If they are in condition, we will get a ballgame like last year because they've got some legit team speed. If not, then its a W.

Look, they were 3-9 last year. They're not good at all. We shouldn't even be discussing losing to this clown college team at home. Without our new offense and playmakers, we should put up 40 points

Yeah with that 3-9 last year I believe that beat our 2-10 last year. I agree with almost everything you said however comparing wins and losses they won.

I think we can all agree we have wayyyy more talent than what our crappy offensive system showed last season, especially on that side of the ball. Plus, BB didn't have a clue how to coach QBs. A quick turnaround wouldn't shock me. It's FAU, enough said.

We can agree about the talent is better then what was out there but maybe the same is said about FAU. I'm looking at the 30 point loss to these guys last year and I'm just hoping that we aren't looking at that again. We always play like garbage in our first game. Didn't matter who was the coach. We usually won but it was ugly. I am energized about Montgomery being here however let's see what happens.

Like I told my kids yesterday. You can polish a turd and all your left with is a shiny turd. I am not a Dane Evans fan. I never have been and never will be. While he is the QB I'm gonna hate our offense unless he surprises me

I contend our players had ZERO faith in our joke of a staff last year and quit. I look for them to be re-energized and play much better than what is expected.

I picked up two white T-shirts at Midwest Sports today for the opening game. Nice shirts. Please do the same if you get the chance to show support and attend the game against FAU.
Only $5 per shirt.

Looking forward to the first game of the year. Both our seasons last year were a disappointment. FAU does have the benefit of a returning Senior QB, something we haven't had in a long time. Also don't overlook that last year we lost 4 games by a total combined point total of 4. We could of easily been at 7 wins. New head coach mistakes as well as couple of turnover was the difference.

Obvious homer pick here but I look for FAU to win this one again based on our returning QB strength, and our coaching staff learning some hard lessons last year in game management.
