Actually waiting for ctt8410 to give us the real details. You are doing a great job here. Unfortunately over the past few years our team's performance has brought your good work on the at-large bid to a screeching halt after a couple of games. Hope this is the exception.

Obviously the most important game is Tulsa at UCF. A win here and we can continue in the hunt.
Other game is Temple at Houston... Need Houston to beat them again. Missouri State needs to beat Loyola Chicago.

and for those wanting real entertainment, there is Boston College (0-13) in conference vs Wake Forest (1-13).

Will D Mann last another year in Winston-Salem? Did we get the better end of the deal there? The Curse of Steve Robinson and Buzz Peterson?

Not much shot for bubble losses today. We need Michigan (10) to lose at Maryland. George Washington (first 4 out) losing to LaSalle would be a huge upset. As would Seton Hall (10) losing at St John's.

I think we have to root for Wichita to win out even though they're also on the bubble. We need that OOC trophy to hang our hat on.

Wilbekin is averaging 6.9 points and 1.3 assists. Not bad, but I guess we aren't asking for a refund intend recruiting budget we advanced, either.

Huge comeback by St Johns in 2nd half but 2 fts in last seconds gives Seton Hall a 1 point win 62-61. I thought St Johns had pulled the upset.

Missed 2 OOB Calls in favor of Temple.???????

It's going to be a tough game Tuesday. This could make or break our at large chances.

Coleman again with a three to win it. Enechionyia is the best all-round player in the league right now though. 25 or 30 points and a bunch of threes. Need our best game Tuesday as Temple will probably be a 10 seed now.

It would take a miracle for them to not at least tie for Conference champion now.

We need to win Tuesday but now I think we are screwed for an at large. If Temple loses only once they will win the league title and get the last at large over Tulsa.

Cincy and UCONN also get at larges.

So now unless something really weird happens I think we have to win the Tourney.

Would the Selection Committee take four from the American?

GO TU!!!!

I don't think the selection committee thinks like you're thinking. As much as the talking heads like them I don't think UCONN, Cincy, or Temple are locks at this point. I also don't think there is a "last" at large to be taken in the way you mean it. Winning Tuesday will be tough but if we can then we have as good a chance as any of them.

Why do I have the sinking feeling that both us and Cincinnati are going to be seeded 2 or 3 in the tournament??? Houston not winning sets up some bad mojo for us!

Calm down. We're still in good shape. Just need to keep winning.

For us to get the 2nd seed we would have to have the better record against Temple, and we have it on both Cinci & Uconn. For Cinci to get the 3rd seed they have to be better head to head with Uconn and they are. They both have Houston and SMU left. Houston is a road game for Cinci, and SMU is a road game for UConn. Uconn has it tougher and they have to finish one game better than Cinci or they get the worse seed. The more I look at it, We might be better off in the tournament by losing one more except that would blow any chance we have at an at large.

Even if we lose one more, we would still be the 2 seed if both UCONN & Cincy also lose one more. Winning out is still our best option. Just keep winning & see what happens.

I'm not concerned about us getting the #2 seed, really, I'm not. What bothers me is that Cincinnati is likely to pick up the #3 seed. I don't like our chances if we lose to Cincinnati in the semi's. Especially if Temple takes the conference tourney. The conference officials are just looking for an excuse to send Temple, Uconn, and Cincinnati to the tournament, and leave us to the NIT.

let's just note that TU is at 37, with only SMU at 16 and UConn at 39. Temple is still in the low 60s. TU has the edge and simply needs to win out, including of course Tuesday night.

I feel more confident with Temple coming in after a big win that I would have it Temple had lost tonight.

The at large chase is not over despite the "sky falling"/Adele riff.

Temple had a HORRIFIC out of conference. HORRIFIC.
If Tulsa beats Temple (and win next 2).... then a semi's appearance should do it.
If Tulsa beats Temple (and lose to Memphis and beats USF).... a final's appearance should do it.
If Tulsa loses to Temple... then it becomes a must win Tourney.

***SHOULD HAVE BEATEN ORU AND TEMPLE. Shitty losses come back to haunt you.

As long as we hold the serve and finish out the season with 3 wins, and if we end up seeded like this, which is very likely:

1 Temple 2 Tulsa 3 Cinci 4 Uconn

...then I hope Temple loses their 3rd matchup with Uconn or Cinci, cuz a win against Cinci in the tourney might be necessary if they don't. I know it is probably a long shot for Temple to make it 3 in a row against Uconn and Cinci two games consecutively, but that still worries me. It also could happen this way with the seeding even if we lose a game, which makes it doubly tough, seeing as how we would then need to win the tourney. I am not happy that we are likely going to face Cincinnati in the semi's, as is probably everyone else. I am still holding out hope that Uconn finishes out with a better record than Cinci, cuz that would make all my worries go the way of Calgon dishwasher detergent.

...and on the previous post, I can't believe it, but I am actually in agreement with BigZit. Those two damn free throws against Temple may come back to haunt us.

I totally do not understand.
#8 conference, 43 SOS, 37 RPI, a top 25 win, 2 top 50 wins, only one sub-100 loss and it's 138?

I guess just winning and leave no doubt they belong.

bracket matrix 2/22 shows TU on 43 lists as in, only good enough for second First Four Out, behind St. Mary's. The last in is Temple, so that would flip with a TU win on Tuesday.
