SMU Prediction Thread

Blowout

We'll drop 50+ on them.

They'll score two or three times. Better part of their scoring comes when we have subs in.

Its a TV game and Dane has struggled on some of his TV games (OU last year being an exception).

SMU leads the nation in interceptions. This offense tends to force throws when scheduled plays aren't successful. Dane's competitive nature doesnt help and he forces throws on his own at times. So TU could beat itself.

Temple wanted to run and was able to do so. Their QB struggled.

If we can run, like we've been able to do against the Mountain West teams, it should be alright.

If we can't run, get cute, try to get Keevan on Sportscenter, or are just plain unlucky, this could turn into a traditional back and forth that is left up to the last possessions of the game like the last 5-10 years.

I have a hard time seeing how the current SMU product on offense will be able to move the ball or score on TU, especially against our speed on the edge. SMU hired an offensive guru and its been a mess. Morris had better get it sorted or next year will be his last. Losing his QB1 didnt help.

They always seem to be up for this game.

I'll go 49-24, but it is close in the first half because of TU mistakes.

Brewer runs for 250+ and we win 56-21 with at least one Pick Six.

With two of the SMU TDs coming in 4th quarter against backups. They're not good. Potentially worse than NC A&T

I agree SMU always plays us tougher than other opponents. Sagarin ratings show Tulsa being 15 points better than SMU at home. I think this will be a rare time when we cover the spread against SMU.

Tulsa 45 SMU 17

They're better than A&T, maybe marginally better than Fresno, maybe on par with SJSU. Their offense is one of the worst in FBS right now because the kid they have in there looks completely unprepared to play right now. Morris went all in on Davis and his injury left them in a huge bind. Our DL should dominate SMU's OL at the point of attack and I expect Linscott and Martin to have huge tackle numbers in this one. TU 47 SMU 14

I'm seeing some rain in the Friday forecast. Hopefully it will be out of the area by kickoff?

Looks like the rain will be gone before kickoff. Looking like cloudy and mid-60s at kickoff. I'll defer to @Weatherdemon for more accurate forecasting.

I hope we bring pressure on their QB earlier than we did against
Fosdick...We almost let that one get away before adjusting....

If we bring pressure early and get a lead, we should be able to
almost name the score...

It would be fun to see Evans have a clean game, and get rid of
the ball on plays that don't open up....He has been sacked too
much after having time in the pocket....Could our T.E.s possibly
figure into the offense??

We keep recruiting TEs but they're a gimmick in this offense. They're an extra OL with receiving eligibility but rarely used. This is how this offense is different than what Malzahn and Morris used where the TE/H-Back were prevalent in the game plan and a game changer if you had the right player there. Baylor never utilizes a TE much on passing plays either.
