Shake Milton...

Young man is the real deal. Don't think we really had a shot at him. His late fathers relationship with the cheater and I think he just wanted to get out of the area. He was fun to watch in HS and it's cool to see how he's developed even though he's at cheater U

He's playing a poor game thus far today. 1-8 from the field.

SMU...

what a joke. what a freakin' joke. they just lost to a team that many did not have in the tourney - blowing a double digit lead.

not sorry one bit to see SMU go down. That's how many decades now since SMU has had a win in the NCAA? Such a superior program.

And double sweet to see Milton boink the final shot that would have won. At least, he can now say he lost in Tulsa.

Was it me or did SMUs offense the last 10 minutes look like a Wojcik offense of having someone hold the ball until 7 seconds left and then start scrambling to find a shot. Moore is gone and I hope Ojeleye goes to the NBA because he is the real deal. Shake, eh. He just reminds me of Uzoh to be honest. Maybe a little more consistent shot is about it.

Jankovich- is not a good coach. Once Brown's players are gone SMU will be back to Dement/Doherty level.

Their loss today was on Jankovich. again. Validates what we already knew about him....

I heard that Milton was making derogatory remarks about TU for some reason. But I think we need to let this go and ignore this. I don't blame him for picking a very good school to attend - one similar to our own. I guess my problem is more with Chargois, a legacy player who is evidently headed there. That is probably on our staff. That is hard to understand.

Purely from a basketball standpoint, we don't want or need Chargois. Watched him several times this year. He dominates but against guys 4-5 inches shorter than he is. No one has anyone physically equal to him. He always appeared slow and lazy on the court and way out of shape. Igbanu would have destroyed him in HS. Magnay too.

So we backed off a bunch of guys SMU landed. In the few minutes McDowell got this year, he looked underwhelming. Landrum may be serviceable but I don't see him having the same impact as Nic Moore, ever, and that's who SMU is hoping he will be. Shake is obviously better suited to the 2 but he has to be the PG at least one more year. Chargois is going to flame out in big D.

Really? Because I don't think Chargois is that big of a deal. That team got bounced by Booker T, which has a turkey and a roll of duct tape in the post.

The SMU program still hasn't won an NCAA game in years; not even close to TU's tradition. A johnny-come-lately that became faddish with the Highland Park set by buying a cheating coach. That will pass soon enough, maybe very soon if Jako lands the OSU gig.

BTW, SMU hasn't won an NCAA game since 1988. Kelly Hines incorrectly said it was 1998 in today's World. All of us longer term TU fans who remember SMU basketball in the WAC know 1998 wasn't correct.

Jank didn't make many in-game adjustments.....SMU had those long, almost scoreless
spells during the season but overcame them....Tonight, they didn't.....

SMU has talent, nice overall size, and are physically strong....They are neither fast
nor quick, and in the end, quickness by USC is what beat them.....USC got to the long
rebounds and loose balls.....Landrum will add both speed and quickness, if he can
develop enough to get playing time.....Of course, he would have for us as well.......
Speed does kill!

Having Shake miss at the end is priceless. Although not as fun as seeing the Birt stare down of Milton at SMU in 2016. That was one of the funniest game moments in recent memory.

SMU could have a very serious fall off next year.

Possibly...However, if Ojeleye stays, they will still have Shake and enough other
contributors to remain at the top/near the top of the conference....If you are talking
the 2018-'19 season, I would agree.....

Jank isn't the epitome of in-game coaching.....In fact, he is kind of Wojick-like, as
TU-BLA suggested....But overall, it is hard to argue with the results....

They do have one thing that I envy....All of their players are bulked up and in
really good physical condition.....That was the one thing we had under Danny M.,
but not so much now......It will be interesting to see how the freshmen and other
first year-in-the-program players look when they come back this fall.....
