Removal of the Inner Dispersal Loop?

There was a study done on this several years ago, turning the northern part of the IDL into a grade level boulevard and extending it east to Utica. Of course whole neighborhoods were obliterated when the Crosstown Expressway was built and those residents didn’t have the social and economic clout to get it stopped like the folks did in Maple Ridge. They stopped the Riverside Expressway from being built. It was to connect at the southeastern corner of the IDL and run south to I-44.

I watched them build the Creek turnpike 20 years ago across south Tulsa. Money certainly did most of those people zero good.
The OTA doesnt care how much money you have... their backers make too much money off their bonds...
So the OTA will show up with the sherrif, a check and a bulldozer... they will level your home while youre in court.. and litigate you into poverty while the concrete is being poured..

the idl seemed like the best way to move traffic around dowmtown. why not relocate that section under ground and build a memorial park above it

That has been discussed along with the boulevard idea.
