Sounds like a possible high scoring game.
Shindelar is a poor man's JJ Watt. If he can learn some technique to go along with his freakish athletic ability he could wreak havoc the next 2 years. This is almost a certainty. No defense could prevent TU from scoring and TU couldn't prevent anyone from scoring.
It should be an excited matchup and I'm glad football is finally back!
Two of our DEs, Kolton Shindelar and Jeremy Smith, are incredibly athletic, tall guys and can really chase after guys. Bigger tackles or double teams should be able to keep them from getting in the backfield, but if they get back there their quickness makes it very difficult for QB or RB to get away. Kolton is playing his 3rd position in 3 years and Smith has switched sides for DE.
The 2 deep on the Tulsa World seems like a pretty good rotation of 8 guys on the D-Line. Only Shemmar Robinson and Trevis Gipson are "inexperienced" Gipson has been lauded for a while as the next guy up at DE, and Robinson came in and won a backup role from day one. Both should be pretty serviceable backups. They test on the line isn't the starters or the position switches. It's whether the rotation can maintain consistency. Lots of young untested guys behind them.
So is it true that the average home costs $1,000,000 in San Jose?
How are your LB's?Interesting comment on your DE's. Our QB is more of a mobile QB than a true passer. Our O-line with one exception is fairly experienced so I hope they cane keep them out. If not it might be a long day for us.
Our new DB's are making some of their first starts but they played a lot last year behind two guys that went to the nfl (well 1 just got cut from the roster). It will be interesting to see how they handle the increased pressure, SJSU has started to get a bit of a rep for having a good backfield.
