Are we really better off with Haith then when we fired Wojo with his 20 win seasons and quick exit in the NIT?

Ask that question in two years. I expect next season will be a struggle. Haith will have "his" guys in place next season. He gets a year to get them together imo. I'm not a Haith guy. He hasn't been overly impressive at any of his first two stops. I didn't see this squad progress from year one to two. That said....he gets two years before any final judgment imo.

We fired Wojcik after losing to Marshall in conference tournament. We didn't get in the NIT that year. Elite eights act gets old.

Liberty, come on. Huge upgrade in SOS and this league is much better that what we saw with Wojo.

If we lose in 2nd game of Nit are we better than wojo or manning
Yes. The quality of what we have coming in is better. DW could recruit but he's Pastner's equivalent in terms of X's and O's. Haith is much better in terms of in game coaching and adjustments. We don't always agree with them or understand them, but he has his reasons. Execution by players is lacking at times. Rarely in the last 2 years has this team just not shown up at all. ORU last year, SEOSU last year, Houston this year, and last night. Also, the difference in talent is not as great as everyone wants to believe. We lacked a dominant presence inside like all of the top teams had. They all had either a dominant offensive presence or a dominant defensive presence. We lacked the size inside to rebound against those teams consistently.

How I know we are in a better spot...I am interested in watching college basketball again. Doesn't matter the conference or matchup. After Phillips left and throughout the Woj years, I watched TU and its conference mates only. We weren't in the conversation to make the tournament and we never win games against teams we had no business beating, ever. Manning's last season and the last two, I've watched a ton of college basketball games across the spectrum. We have been in that conversation the last two seasons...what other teams do matter again. Haith will keep us in that conversation. Teams lay eggs sometimes. Unexplainable eggs.

You can't compare Haith to those 2 because the level of competetion has increased significantly (C-USA vs AAC)If Wojcik could coach and treat the kids like Haith or Manning he would have big at TU and have moved on to a power conference gig. IMO Wojcik recruited very well to TU, but could not keep that talent and his bench IQ was poor.

I think Haith is definately an upgrade and he has much to prove, and will do well with kids who can flourish under his system.
