You're using the traditional rational of most offenses. The problem is, monty's offense is sort of built the other way around. The threat of the pass (specifically the deep pass) is used to take men out of the box, or to give us a running advantage on one side or another. So, either we're going to have to be able to make the throws downfield or we will have to be creative about getting our best players the ball with room to work. If we come into Stillwater expecting to shove the ball down the cowboys throats while they stack the box against us, we're going to lose.
Either we make the throws downfield or we get creative in space. But we won't be rushing more than around 50% of the snaps.It's not Monty's M.O. I don't care who the QB is.
