The optics on Israeli actions, and the present 'land grab' may not look great, and give Netanyahu a bad image. What he's doing is wise though. We don't know how things will go with the vacuum of power in Syria that could happen now. Nailing military installations and chemical weapons stockpiles will stop somebody from taking strong and easily facilitated dictatorial actions. You never know what groups could see an avenue to make moves now. Cripple the possibilities now, before something can't be undone. I don't want Netanyahu to gain a political advantage through all this, but I'd rather not see Israel and the rest of the Middle East landscape have threatening moves made in Syria that can't be taken back.

Power vacuum in the Middle East. I expect the worst of the worst to fill it.

Yeah, so. So do I. What I'm commenting on is when that happens, this is a wise plan to prepare for that. This mitigates the results.

Agree 100% Looks like the US, Israel and Turkey are all currently engaged in military activity in Syria aimed at preventing ISIS from filling the current power void Doubt it works but it’s certainly sound foreign policy. Assad was a POS. What follows is almost certain to be worse

Dropping Chemical weapons, mass graves, and laying siege to entire cities with non-discriminatory killings? That would be doing something else. As it stands, these new guys won't have the Russians and Iranians backing them with airstrikes. The Israelis just wiped out the Syrian air force, too. Never doubt Putin's ability to pay off a messed up dictator if he thinks he can screw with us, and it gets him some latitude for Russian interests.

But according to our new illustrious new director of national intelligence. He is just a good guy, and that is all BS promoted by Western Media because only random Elon-lemming acolytes on Twitter produce factual information.
