The optics on Israeli actions, and the present 'land grab' may not look great, and give Netanyahu a bad image. What he's doing is wise though. We don't know how things will go with the vacuum of power in Syria that could happen now. Nailing military installations and chemical weapons stockpiles will stop somebody from taking strong and easily facilitated dictatorial actions. You never know what groups could see an avenue to make moves now. Cripple the possibilities now, before something can't be undone. I don't want Netanyahu to gain a political advantage through all this, but I'd rather not see Israel and the rest of the Middle East landscape have threatening moves made in Syria that can't be taken back.
