Nebraska center Will Farniok officially entered the transfer portal on Tuesday morning, per a source.

Farniok, a third-year sophomore center, spent the past two seasons at Nebraska as reserve center, appearing in four games and serving as a backup to center Cameron Jurgens over the past two seasons. Farniok appeared in one game, in 2020, serving as a backup center in the loss to Ohio State.

The little brother of former Husker lineman Matt Farniok, Will Farniok was listed as the backup center, but was leapfrogged on the depth chart during games by his older brother at center when Jurgens struggled with snapping issues.

Farniok joins Matthew Anderson and Boe Wilson as offensive linemen who have transferred from the program. Anderson transferred to Louisiana, while Wilson will play his final season of eligibility at Western Kentucky.

Nebraska will be looking for added depth at the center spot in the spring, now. In the past, guards Trent Hixson and Matt Sichterman have taken reps at center in practices.

Will Farniok, a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
