Ohio State

Ou has 4 more potential losses. Tcu, baylor, texas, and the other osu.
This is legit possibility, but the Big XII is so bad right now they could win those games just as easily and run the table in the conference. OkState will be lucky to win 7 games this season...the defense is inconsistent to stop anything. Don't be surprised if you start seeing teams play nickel on every down to take away the pass because they know OSU cannot run the ball.

Texas got thumped by Cal. Baylor...Baylor's schedule has been less challenging than Union HS and Jenks HS' schedule this year. TCU is just really young and inexperienced. Top to bottom the conference is really bad this year. Kansas and Iowa State may be the 2 worse teams in FBS. These 2 teams are barely competitive against low division FBS teams, not competitive against decent G5s and are just potential injuries waiting to happen in the Big XII. North Dakota State, an FCS team, would beat Kansas by 40 points this year and probably beat Iowa State by 20.

Contrast that with the AAC this year...Houston beat a Big XII team, USF thumped Syracuse, UCONN (whose offense is terrible) beat Virginia, ECU beat NC State, UCF went to 2 OTs against Maryland (who is bad in its own right).

The Big XII as a conference is a train wreck on the football field and off this year.

I don't know who would take the OU job right now that would be the type of person that would keep OU fans happy.

The Big 12 is essentially the Southwest Conference now and dying. By the time you get the problems at OU sorted out and the amenities built to compete, the conference could be gone or impotent.

Who wants to be the CEO of a corporation you know will be going through a downsizing? Not Gates, Jobs, Perot, etc. And that is what OU will want. People forget that nobody really wanted the OU job in 1999 and Stoops has publicly admitted that the school was a mess and he grossly underestimated what he was getting himself into. Some of that was to pump himself up, but you can't discount what Spurrier and others have said how they were shocked at what Bob told them shortly after arrival.

I'd venture to bet that OU is in worse shape now. In terms of whether they are poised for future success, OU was in better shape in 1999. OU could be 5 years from being a dynasty or 5 years from being as irrelevant as Nebraska and Miami are now. There is no way to know. Which probably makes Stoops job safe ironically. Who are you going to get that would take the job that will clearly be an improvement over what you have. Im not sure anyone answers that call.

The 2015 ,16 and 17 recruiting classes are much better than the 2013 and 2014 classes. Almost all the starters are from the 13 and 14 years. So my guess is they will improve but this year is going to be rough.

Look for Stoops to leave after his kids graduate from HS is my guess.

GO TU!!

I was thinking he would be in Austin next year.

Stoops gets to leave on his own terms is my guess.

GO TU!!!!!
The OCs that Texas stole from Tulsa have worked out pretty well for them. They put up 43 points in a loss to Cal over the weekend. Offense is not the issue any longer. I think Strong gets one more year after that move showing he's willing to change things up and bring in other guys to make things better.

While I think Medium Game Bob gets to dictate when he leaves OU, he may receive some additional encouragement if OU doesn't make a NY6 game this season.

OU and the big 12 are built for a finesse high school spread offense/defense.. They are totally out classed when they face schools that are built more in the vein of power physical football.

The difference in the physicality of Ohio state and Clemson compared to OU was shocking.

More confusing though.. The OU fans I talk to at the cigar establishments in Norman are content with winning big 12 and don't care if they compete for the big prize

My LSU friends say Pee Wee Hermann is in line for the LSU job when Miles is bought out after this year.

LSU not being able to score any points or find 1 QB that can move the ball efficiently is puzzling. More puzzling is how they are always ranked in the top 10 yet can't score enough points to win a big game.
