So what would USF, Wichita St., and Tulsa have to do in tournament to join Memphis with an NIT bid? I'm thinking get to the championship game. And then it would still be iffy.

They mentioned during the broadcast last night that there have already been several top seeds from smaller conferences lose in their tournaments. That means fewer at-large spots available in the NIT.

MVC is one. Does Loyola-Chicago have the cache to be an NCAA bid stealer or are they an NIT bid stealer?

Championship game or bust for all 3 teams at this point.
Not sure that would do the trick for any of the three. Each displays a record that is similar to the teams in the blue-blood conference and as we all know the NCAA seems to favor them. All we can do is let the games be played and see where the chips fall.

Memphis isn't 'in' until we actually knock off Tulane simply because that's the kind of bad L that could knock us out IMHO.

They are getting in the

NCAA by divine intervention. They have Sister Jean
Not the same level of Loyola this year. Not sure what happened but they had a lot of good pieces returning to the mix this year and they just fell way short of expectations. MVC is a one bid league this year.

The cut off line for the NIT looks to be around 80. We are creeping up there, 89 today. Getting to the semifinals might get Tulsa a post season, depending on the autobid count.

Got to still keep in mind regular season winners that don’t win the conference title stealing those bids

I think I did, if you look through net rankings there are several who are under the 90 or so ranking with the auto bid if they lose. Altogether there about 15 conferences who have really strong possibilities of getting a bid and are guarenteed outside the top 100.

So somewhere in that 80ish number people will be getting left out. If we're not close to that we have no shot. Probably need a low 70 to be sure.

Last year Penn St was 77, Standford 86, OSU 88, LSU 94, and Boston College 95.

There were 11 autobids, 3 fell inside the top 100. So lop off the last 3/4 for the autobids this year and 77 penn state was last one in.

Most of the at-larges fell in the 60s-70s, with numbers 67-73 all in, one an auto (Rider at 69). RPI 60 and 63 were also in, but as qualifiers.

If Bucknell wins tonight in the Patriot final, Colgate can be added to this list.

How does Loyola get an auto bid when Drake won the regular season title

I saw on the graphic that Loyola had the no. 1 seed so they must have tied with a tie breaker to Loyola?

Loyola swept the season series with Drake and was the #1 seed so they get the auto-bid. Drake is probably CBI bound.
