Oklahoma Native Angie Nelp Named Tulsa Women’s Basketball Coach - University of Tulsa Athletics

Arizona State Associate Head Coach Angie Nelp will be introduced Tuesday as The University of Tulsa head women's basketball coach, it was announced today by Director of Athletics Rick Dickson. Nelp is the 11th head coach in Tulsa women's basketball history.

I like her recruiting skills. If she can recruit to Rice, she will do really well here. Looks very promising and may be a hint of what Dickson looks for in a coach.

Bit like the new president, checks a lot of boxes except for experience in this specific position.

Seems to have the sort of connections that will serve Tulsa well in recruiting, a little international experience, has dealt with high academic requirements as a coach and clearly she valued it as a player. Local so she won't be walking in completely naive and probably has some connections still since she is relatively young. Seems like she was in some fights for good players and landed some as a recruiter.
