So that you can get up and running quickly, here is a list of Help links that will show you how to use the new boards and make changes to your preferences.
Simply click HERE for the Help Section and you’ll find a list of "How To" topics (titles starting with the word HELP in each one.)

Click Post New Thread that is in the top right hand corner of the page. On a mobile device, this button will sit in the center at the top of the page.
Insert a Thread Title
Create the body of the post - Text, Image, Video, etc. in the field below.
From there, click Create Thread at the bottom.
You can click Preview which sits next to Create Thread to see how this thread will look on the message boards before posting.
In addition, you can choose to make this thread you created a Watched Thread which will deliver notifications to you, if you choose in your preferences. It will also store this thread in your Watched Threads so you can go back and check on them later.
How do I create a new poll on the boards?
Follow the same instructions for creating a new thread, by inserting a Thread Title and a message for the body of the post. Before clicking Create Thread, scroll to the bottom of the Create Thread screen and you’ll see options to create a poll.
Fill out each field, including the poll Question, the Possible Responses, the Maximum Selectable Responses, and the Options. Like with creating a thread with no poll, you can click Preview to see how this poll will look on the message boards before posting.
What are the options to format or embed media into my new post or reply?
How do I reply to a specific user in a thread?
If you want to reply to a specific user within a thread and not the original poster, click
within the post you want to reply to.
How do I quote a specific post in a thread?
When you click
to a specific post in a thread, that post is automatically quoted.
You will see the quote code added when you click reply.
Simply post underneath that to have your message show up underneath the quoted post.
To quote multiple posts, click
in each of the posts. You wish to quote. Each time you click
before completing your reply, that post will be added as a quote through code in the order that you clicked
How do I change my message board Signature? Hover over your name in the top right hand corner of the page. A drop-down menu of options will appear.
Click Signature.
In this field, you have the same formatting tools you use to create and reply to threads on the board. You can use these tools to create your signature. That includes text and embedding photos.
Your signature will appear in each thread you create or post you make. It will also replace the previous Signature in any past posts as well upon updating.
How do I change my message board Avatar?
Your avatar is the small photo that appears as an icon on the message board above your username.
To change this avatar, hover over your name in the top right hand corner of the page. A drop-down menu of options will appear.
Click Avatar.
You are presented with an option to upload an avatar from your computer or a URL.
How do I access all of my profile settings?
If you click your username in the top right hand corner, you’ll get to the Personal Details menu.
You can make changes to several items including your Avatar, the list of alert preferences and watched users/threads. You can also add your location, occupation and more.
How do I change my general Alert preferences?
You can customize what actions on the message board will trigger an Alert notification.
By clicking the “flag” you can check out your Alerts
You can manage these Alerts from your drop-down menu that appears when you hover over your username in the top right hand corner.
Click “Alert Preferences”
Within this menu, you are given several options to choose what you are notified via the Alerts tool in the top right hand corner of every page.
You can choose from a variety of alerts including if users reply to a thread you’re watching, someone quotes your message in a reply, likes your message or follows you.
How do I keep track of a thread that I want to revisit later?
At the top of any thread that you are viewing, you will see an option to “Watch Thread.”
Click -
You will receive an option to receive email notifications when there are new replies to that thread.
Any thread that you are watching can be tracked in a variety of ways.
Click “Watched Threads” at the top of the board. You can see any watched threads that have unread posts within it since you last viewed it. You can also view all Watched Threads, regardless if you have read them since they were replied to.
Alerts: Any threads that you are watching will deliver an “Alert” notification that you can check in the top right hand corner of the page at any time.
By clicking the “flag” you can check out the alerts of threads you’re watching.
How do I follow a specific user so that I can keep track of their posts?
Within a thread that you are viewing, click the username that you want to follow.
You will be presented with an option to “Follow” in the pop-up profile that appears.
You can manage those that you follow in your drop-down menu that appears when you hover over your username in the top right hand corner.
Click “People You Follow.”
If you’re looking to track the posts that users you follow have participated in, click “Your News Feed” in that same drop-down menu.
How do I search the forum for a particular topic, keyword, etc.? There is a search function where you can search the forums for any words. This is advised to do if you are unsure if a topic you want to post has already been discussed. Just put your key words into the search bar at the top right of the page, shown below;
By clicking in the Search field, it will bring up a larger search tool.
Now you have the ability to search for posts by a particular member and or go to advanced search, which gives you many more options such as searching a particular forum.
What does it mean when I "Like" a thread?
A "Like" is when you click the button "Like" on someone’s post at the bottom right next to reply, or somebody clicks to "Like" your post.
You can find it underneath each message on the board. It is next to the "Reply" icon.
It saves you wasting a post with "I like your post" type of comments, which may be considered as spamming. To see how many "Likes" someone has you can view their profile card by clicking on their username. To find out how many likes you have received, you can check your own profile card and you can also find it in your profile.
There may be trophies that are associated with receiving a particular number of Likes that you can earn as well. This is dependent upon how your site staff and moderators have set up trophies and other user titles.
What is a "Status Update?"
A status update is a little piece of information about you like how your feeling or what you are doing much like Facebook or Twitter. You can Update your status 2 ways, either by hovering over your name at the top right and filling in your status at the bottom of this box or by going to your profile and adding in a comment there. Your status update will show on your profile and also on your profile card. On a members profile you can also comment on someone’s status update by clicking on the comment text just right of their status.
You have the option of turning off the ability for other users to see your status by unchecking the box within the set of tools that appears when you hover over your username in the top right hand corner.
How do I report a post to the site moderators? If you see a message board post or thread that you would like to bring to the attention of the moderators, it is important to use the "Report" tool. This will make it easy for the site administrators and moderators to quickly find which post is being reported and why.
Underneath the original post in a thread (to report the entire thread) or in an individual reply, you have an option to click "Report."
Click Report will bring up a window that allows you to give a reason for why this post needs the attention of the site administrators and moderators.
How do I ignore a user?
By clicking on any user's name or avatar in a post that they've made, a pop-up window will appear showing several options. One of those options, on the far right, is Ignore
If you click Ignore that user will be added to your list of Ignored users.
You can manage the list of users that you've ignored by clicking on your username in the top right hand corner and clicking People You Ignore.
How do I start a conversation (direct message) with a user?
There are several ways you can send a message directly to a user. These messages will only be seen by the user you’re sending a message to and not made public like a post on the message board.
- The Conversation icon: This appears in the top right hand corner of every page next to your username and the Notifications flag. Click this to check on current conversations or to start new ones.
Clicking that Conversation icon will bring up an option - “Start a New Conversation.”
You can also click on any username within a thread on the board and the pop-up will bring up a series of options, including “Start a New Conversation.”
Once you have an ongoing conversation between you and another user, you can also add people to a conversation.
Inside a conversation thread, you will see a list of users currently in that conversation on the right hand side. You’ll see an option to “Invite More”
You can choose more users to add to the conversation. If you would like to remove yourself from the conversation, you can do that at anytime. At the top of the conversation thread, you will see an option to “Leave Conversation.” Click that and you will no longer be a part of the conversation moving forward.
The tweet will be embedded on the board after the new thread is created or the reply has been posted.
How do I embed video?
The message board will accept video embeds from a variety of platforms. Those include the likes of YouTube and Vimeo among others.
There are two ways to embed video on the message board.
1. Paste the URL of a video into the body of the message board post.
NOTE: If the video is one of the formats accepted for responsive embed, it will automatically embed that video into the post upon clicking “Create Thread/Post Reply.”

- Click the video icon when creating a thread/replying to a post - insert the URL of the video you wish to embed. Click “Embed.”
How do I embed a photo?
When you are creating a new thread or replying, you can embed a photo to appear in your post.
- Click the image icon. Insert the URL of the photo you wish to embed. Click “Insert.”
