As I lurk on the AAC board, I've scene a lot of comments from fans of other AAC members about how they are worried about playing Navy.
And I don't get it.

Looking at them on the surface, I don't see things that should worry us.
Its Navy. They don't get the same level athletes that we get. They run the ball about 95% of the time and their option attack isn't like going up against Ga Tech's option (Ga Tech can get good athletes to run it with.)
On defense they are known for being undersized across the front and again they don't get athletes on the back end that worry me.

They had what I would consider 2 good wins last season:
Temple (By a touchdown)
Texas St (Only because we lost to TX St)

Yes, I get they are well coached, play hard and should be a disciplined team but if TU is coached up and schemed up like I expect this staff to be able to, I don't see Navy giving us any issue.

My gameplan:

Offense: Just run our O. Spread them out and throw the rock around, I dont think they will be able to cover us 3 wide and 4 wide. Their undersized front 7 shouldnt give us issues on the offensive line. So I see us being able to handle them both in pass pro and in the run game.

Defense: Play sound assignment football, which plays into the strengths of Bill Young. Our front 4 should be able to disrupt them up front (size advantage) as long as they can handle Navy's cut blocking scheme.
In coverage, play man with a single high safety. Bring Mudoh down to sniff out the ball carrier in the option. If we cant cover Navy's receivers one on one then we dont deserve to win.

Id be worried if we were playing Air Force.

Commence counter arguments!
