Oklahoma Forestry Service Director Mark Goeller has been fired due to the agency’s handling of this month’s wildfires.

Governor Kevin Stitt made the announcement during a press conference on Wednesday, expressing concerns about the department’s response to the fires.

I don’t know what more he could do with idiots burning and the wind being 70 mph

I was actually in Tulsa for that horrendous day. And I drove out a couple days later. And I was kinda impressed that it wasn't worse than it was. When things are that dry, and the wind is that strong, and a fire gets going... Good luck. All you can do really is wait out the wind and try to defend structures in the path.

But given the sheer number and scattering over the state, my honest thought two days later when they were all out was, "Nice job, fire people!"

People should really start coming to grips with the fact that natural disasters are becoming more prevalent across the country as a byproduct of climate change. Remember when everyone was ragging on California for their wildfires?

Now, just wait for the residents and landowners to come after AEP / PSO trying to recoup their losses regardless of actual causation, and driving up Oklahoma's utility costs. It's happening across the country.

I almost think that Stitt was trying to get ahead of Trump's keen reactions to this fire stuff, and diverting rivers and lakes if they don't 'handle' it according to his assessment of what is proper. So maybe Trump is behind one more government firing, this time on the states part. Trump might try to send the Arkansas the opposite way if he's not satisfied or work on figuring out how to dump some of Lake Texhoma into Keystone Lake.
