Did anyone here go?

“Stewart begins by referring to the recent film “The Trump Prophecy,” which was shown in over 1,200 theaters in October. The film is based on a book — The Trump Prophecies: The Astonishing True Story of the Man Who Saw Tomorrow…and What He Says Is Coming Next — by Mark Taylor and Mary Colbert. It’s the memoir of a fireman with PTSD and severe health problems who got better through the help of a Christian natural health doctor and his wife. In the process Taylor received and then, with Colbert’s help, disseminated a prophecy from God himself about how Donald Trump would become the president of the United States.

The film shows how Taylor, in a dramatic epiphany, turns to Isaiah 45 and makes the link between King Cyrus and Trump. This has become an evangelical talking point for some.

As Stewart notes:

The identification of the 45th president with an ancient Middle Eastern potentate isn’t a fringe thing. “The Trump Prophecy” was produced with the help of professors and students at Liberty University, whose president, Jerry Falwell Jr., has been instrumental in rallying evangelical support for Mr. Trump. Jeanine Pirro of Fox News has picked up on the meme, as has Ron Dermer, the Israeli ambassador to the United States, among many others.”

A movie by college students with less then a $2M budget. Yes...pretty fringe.

LOL.

1,200 theaters is a lot. A documentary based on an interview done OTL (off the lot) doesn't require a lot of dough to have excellent production values. Movies with a cast of paid actors and sets haven't cost much more (e.g., current box office hit "Get Out" cost $4.5M) and opened in far fewer theaters. Then there is cable, online streaming, DVD's and other forms of distribution.

The theme of evangelicals associating Trump with Biblical kingship is a better explanation of his actions and his base's enthusiasm than the teachings of Christ.

Besides making movies, Liberty University seems to play good b-ball. They whomped UCLA and got the coach fired. Saw the end of the game; they were solid. Sort of ORU with Georgian architecture.

Has anyone other than WATU ever heard of these movies? I would have thought The Trump Prophecy would have been advertised and shown here in Tulsa. Yet, this was the first time I’ve heard of it.

Thanks....don't think I've ever been to a Cinemark which would explain why I had never heard of it.

Cinemark Tulsa 17 with IMAX

Cinemark Broken Arrow1801 E. Hillside Drive

Broken Arrow theaters make the most sense. My guess is that is the area around Tulsa with the highest populace of Trump's base.

The movie was released in October, so it may have already played elsewhere in the area.

So did anyone else see it showing at any theaters or even hear about it ?

Google Isaiah 45. Somewhere from there I found a list of cities to click on for locations. Before this thread I had never never heard of it.
