Step up man!!!
Sorry, have to disagree with you on this one 4Ever. Look at the stats (https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/gamelog/_/id/4066477/martins-igbanu), he has "show up" in only TWO of the 11 games this year. The first game against a cupcake and the last game against a much smaller lineup. Against any team with size equal to him he vanishes.Ten points 75% from the field. Try again.

Admittedly his expectations are high as the senior leader this year with high talent and physical skills, but he has not been what the team needs to be successful yet. He has gotten double digit foul shots in two games, so he either isn't aggressive enough or hasn't gotten calls in 82% of games to this point. He is just barely 3rd on the team in rebounds per game which is more evidence of lack of aggressiveness.
Of the ten games I have seen this year, the team only played better with Igbanu in the lineup once and we were blown out. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be saying this. He is an awesome kid with a rare combination of skills and size, but he is not performing at the level this team needs him to. I have said this in almost every game thread, the conference season is going to be rough if Igbanu isn't getting it done in the paint for us.
He has potential and I hope this game is a sign of things to come and not just an outlier.

Not sure Korita was guarding him TU switches frequently and he got matched up on switches. No disagreement with me from the whole season overall. His point came about this game. My point total and field goals were off because of a scorekeeping error. However Igbanu's play against Arkansas wasn't an issue and wasn't the reason we lost.
Haith falling in to old habits with our zone, putting Korita on a guy torching us instead of say Jackson or Rachal, and an overall low defensive intensity level (except a small time period to start the 2nd half) were the issues.
Over the last two games I think Igbanu has started to return to his expected level of play. Now he needs to continue to turn it up and start being consistent with it every game.
So far his first 10 games were not up to his standard.

The guy was on fire knocking down NBA long range jumpers. Unless you wanted someone to cheap shot him no one on TU’S team was going to slow him down . The Arkie had threes hitting the rim and falling in and Mussel Dick kept his starters in up 20 until one minute left in the game.Ok then, you put a hard tag on him and don't switch him on anything.
But if you go back and look Korita picked him up on inbounds, several times during the second have Korita was clearly the one defending him and I never saw Rachal or Jackson on him. The first half he ripped our zone, the second he abused Korita.
I was only able to watch the first 10-15 minutes before running off to another engagement. Arkansas seemed to take a ton of shots from 25-27 ft...probably not the highest percentage shots...but they were actually hitting them early on and put us in a big hole because of it. Doesn't help that we missed about 4 consecutive layups in that stretch as well. From that point it was just hang on and don't do anything completely stupid for Arkansas. The guy was on fire knocking down NBA long range jumpers. He's a good shooter and he wasn't being covered on most of his shots. Our defensive rotations were disjointed and weren't swinging back to him quickly enough. That wasn't just the kid going off, it was also Musselman's system shreading Haith's. Anyone who looked at Isaiah Joe's tape from last year should have known what they had in him. Not only that, but we had somebody who was his teammate last season and we still didn't cover him.The guy was on fire knocking down NBA long range jumpers. It hasn't really happened to us much this year. We are better on defense on the 3 pt shot this year.Weird how this keeps happenings to us

I hope your eyes improve
The Tulsa inside game is pedestrian and it appears that Martins Igbanu has fallen below last year’s performance standard . TU has guards who have improved from last year and work hard on the court (Jackson , Joiner and Korita) , but there is no prolific outside shooter on this team. This was a great opportunity for Igbanu to lead this year’s team but it appears he didn’t put in the extra time and effort to make it happen and improve his game .He is mostly playing like he always has....The problem he is facing, and
not doing a very good job of it, is that defenses now realize he is slow to,
or is not going to pass the ball back outside if they double or triple him....
Given his slow response to the changed conditions, I wouldn't be too
confident that he will get it done......
Let's face it..He is who he is..We live or die with that, or go much more
often to Earley....He makes fr. mistakes, but can do a lot of things,
including being a really good rebounder, that Igbanu can't......This post
thing isn't a team strength at this time.......
He missed his part of what we were all hoping would be a greatly improved inside out game. He didn't adapt or isn't being coached to kick the ball out to the guards. The Tulsa inside game is pedestrian and it appears that Martins Igbanu has fallen below last year’s performance standard . “Those who work the hardest get the most reward” . Someone needed to plant the seed .Talent is just part of the issue. The guy kills us with his non effort. Watch him rebound. He constantly gets beat to the ball. I would say that he is not trying very hard and just likes to gripe.
I really don't know his personal situation or the coaching he is receiving, I am just watching the games. Based on what I have seen 1) Igbanu has been outplayed by any big with a minimal amount of skill 2) the team plays better with him on the bench 3) He doesn't do the "dirty work" to be successful in the paint. There was a moment in the KSU game 2nd half when Igbanu was doubled teamed and Korita was standing alone at the 3. After hesitating, pondering, etc., Igbanu tried to make a move for the basket and turned the ball over. I kept thinking - pass it out to Korita, dang it!
