Some of the larger schools, Texas A&M for example, have a large number of players hit the portal. Consequently, they can grab a lot players.

About how many football scholarships are available?

So I could be wrong because I know they were talking about changing the rule, but the hard number is 85 total but a max of 25 a year. Now the 25 is what could have changed. So even if you have 30 players graduate/portal you could only sign 25

You are about 10 too high. It's more like 15-20. We don't have that many vacancies right now.

Don’t quote me, there was an NCAA rule that went something like 85/25.

A D-1 football team could have a maximum of 85 scholarship players and sign no more than 25 players in one recruiting cycle.

Now?

“The NCAA announced May 18 that a rule limiting Division I teams to 25 recruits per signing class will be suspended for the next two academic years. Teams, however, will still be capped at 85 scholarship players at Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools and 63 at Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) schools.”

T.U. still has a lot of ”unfinished” business when it comes to recruiting.
