How in the world the NCAA hasn’t thrown the book at them is beyond me.
He literally paid a recruit $12,000 so his family could move to Memphis so
he would sign there.
Great question, and if they had a serious moment, they still probably
couldn't answer the question....They have tried the tiered system of
trying to enforce compliance....They gave dispensations to the "big 5"
and punished everyone else for the same crime...Sometimes in almost
a punitive way.....That hasn't worked, and they don't even know who the
hell they are anymore.....
Their decisions on waivers for transfers have been totally inconsistent,
They have been way too slow in coming, and have been totally slanted
to those that transferred to one of their favorite schools (or conferences)....
In trying to be selective in their compliance policies, they have lost most,
or
all, really, of their reputation as an unbiased compliance administrator.....
Real solutions are really tough to come by....Once you screw up a system
that would have worked if there had been integrity by those in charge, it
takes a long, long time to straiten it out.....Governing bodies tend to be
self serving...The larger, and more powerful they have become, the more
self serving they are....
There is a message here, but I'm not going to dwell on it.....
